I have a couple of cute baby cards to share today. I used a technique called Double Embossing to create part of the card. Double embossing is done with a Brayer, Versamark, clear embossing powder and an embossing folder. First let me show you the cards.
This first card is done with Cool Caribbean (wish they were bringing it back!) and So Saffron. The double embossed section is done with the Vintage Wallpaper EF. It's quite simple, you ink up your brayer with versamark then run it over your embossing folder. I use the side that had the flat design, not the raised design. You place your paper into the embossing folder and run it through the big shot. Take it out and pour the clear embossing powder all over it then heat emboss. It gives you a beautiful look, the flat area is heat embossed so it's glossy and darker that the raised areas. If I get a chance I'll do a picture tutorial sometime soon. Here is the girl card that I did.
This card was done in Pretty in Pink (will miss it!) and Certainly Celery (will really miss it!!) I used the same embossing folder for the double embossed technique. A tip for you: when you are double embossing, do a bunch at one time. You already have the supplies handy and the embossing folder sticky with Versamark. Make it worth your while! I do at least 6 or 8 pieces of card stock in different colors when ever I do this. I just tuck them into an empty stamp case and keep them on my desk. Also, run the embossing buddy over your paper to keep your embossing neat. When you are done, just wash the embossing folder with warm soapy water to remove the versamark.
Thanks for visiting today!! Tomorrow is Thursday so I have a new card to show you for the Create with Connie and Mary weekly challenge. See you then!
If it doesn't move...stamp it!
