Hexagons for CCMC258

Today I have a card to share that I made for the Thursday Challenge at Create with Connie and Mary.  This week we had a color challenge to work with, take a look.

I love these colors together.  When I saw them I was wishing I had already ordered the new Gingham Garden DSP, but sadly I don't have it yet.  So, I had to do something else and went to my Six Sided Sampler set.  I haven't done much with this new set yet so I was happy to pull it out to work with.  Here's the card I came up with.

I have been into clean crisp designs lately, so I did the same here.  The card base is Melon Mambo with a layer or Whisper White.  The white was embossed with the Honeycomb EF to keep with the hexagon theme.  I stamped two hexagons for each of the three colors, using different patterns.  They are added to the card with SNAIL, I chose to keep them flat on the CS instead of popping them up.  The card needed a little extra something and a few flowers fit the bill.

The Melon Mambo flower and Daffodil Delight flower are punched with the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack.  To get the colors, I stamped extra hexagons and punched the flower out of them.  The Night of Navy flower is the new Simply Pressed Clay that I used to make a flower with the Buttons and Blossoms Clay Molds.  A simple and clean card that looks nice and crisp!  I hope you like it, I enjoyed designing it!

I hope you will join the challenge with me!  Go to Create with Connie and Mary for all the details and to link up your card!  While you are there, check out the preview of the Summer Collectio 2013 and sign up!  I am a Guest Designer and have a fun 3D tutorial for you using Rev Up the Fun.  You dont't want to miss out on all the great projects in this collection!

This is a cute card! I have not put ink on the hexagon set yet. I want to...I look at it and think I"m going to make a card and it goes right back on the shelf. I'm going to be brave!

I agree! The flowers really do make the card! I love how soft this card looks even with the bold colors! So pretty!
