Toil & Trouble for CCMC265

As I said yesterday, fall is creeping closer and I am enjoying making Halloween cards!  I used Toil & Trouble for today's Thursday Challenge card at Create with Connie and Mary.  First, here is the sketch for the week.

I took this week's sketch pretty liberally and turned this pretty spring looking sketch with a flower into this.

I was inspired to do a Halloween card since it's Preview week for the Create with Connie and Mary Fall Collection 2013.

Here's what I did:
1.  Picked  Pumpkin Pie as my card base and embossed it with the Houndstooth EF.

2.  Die cut a Whisper White circle then stamped the large Toil & Trouble stamp with Versa Mark and embossed it in black.  I added a hand cut circle of black card stock as a matting to make the words stamd out.

3.  Color was added over the words on the circle using sponge daubers and ink (emboss resist technique).  The colors are Old Olive and Pumpkin Pie.

4.  Added the strips of paper and the banner from the new Witches Brew DSP to the card base.    Adhered the finished circle with dimensionals over them.

 5.  Final touch is the embossed black bird that I added with a dimensional on the side of the circle.

That's it!  A very fun Halloween card in honor of Preview week.  Go to Create with Connie and Mary to participate in this week's challenge with us.  Be sure to check out the fantastic preview projects and sign up for the early bird price for the Fall Collection 2013.

If it doesn't move...stamp it!!

Very attractive Halloween card! Love how you pulled all the colors together in the sponging of the circle and your crow is a perfect addition!

Fantastic halloween card! I love halloween, but most of my clients do not...so alas, I never get to have any fun making these kinds of cards. This is awesome!
