Flashback Friday: Simple Birthday Thanks

Welcome to Flashback Friday!  This week we travel back to 2008 for the fun stamp called Simple Birthday Thanks.  This was a large single stamp that was great for thank you cards and making giant cupcakes!

I have used it for both purposes.  My favorite is making giant cupcake birthday cards.  Here's one of my favorites.

Believe it or not, this card doesn't use any DSP!  I used regular card stock only, just added lots of texture!  I used the Perfect Polka Dots and Fancy Fan embossing folders to bring the card stock to life.  I simply stamped the cupcake onto the card stock StazOn blck Ink then cut it out by hand.    I added a bit of bling by adding rhinestone gems and a glittery red cherry.  The greeting is the retiring set Curly Cute.  I have made loads of these type cards for the bookstore that I sell at, and they are always gone in a flash!  I will be making more soon and will share them with you.
I hope you enjoyed the flashback to 2008 today! See you tomorrow for See it Again Saturday!

More Mosaic Madness For CCMC254

It's time for another great challenge at Create with Connie and Mary.  This week we have some great colors to work with.

I am still on my Mosaic Madness kick.  Part of the reason I keep using this great new set is that I am working at my dining room table right now and not in my office due to Samuel.  It's much more convenient for me to be upstairs with him than drag him down to my craft room in the basement.  So..my supplies are limited, I couldn't bring everything up!  Anywho, this is what I came up with.

The card base is Island Indigo, which believe it or not I did not emboss!  Instead I embossed the piece of Pool Party that I used as my first layer.  I added a layer of So Saffron with the greeting stamped in Island Indigo.  I stamped my mosaics and punched them out then added them using dimensionals.  I like the off set look to this card, something different!

I hope you will join in the challenge too and create a card with the fantastic colors we have to work with this week.  Just go to Create with Connie and Mary for more details and to link up your creation.

Thanks for stopping by!! See you tomorrow for another Flashback Friday!

TSSC265

I hope everyone has a
wonderful Memorial Day.  A huge thank you to all the men and women that
serve in the military to protect out country, we appreciate all you do!
It's Monday and time for a new sketch for the Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge with Technostamper.  Here is this week's sketch.

I haven't use my Dress Up framelits since I got my new catalog preview items, so I pulled them out for this week's card.  I still used new items, couldn't help myself!! Here's what I came up with.

The card base is the new In Color Baked Brown Sugar.  I added a strip of the printed window sheet from the Quatrefancy Specialty DSP.  A piece of the new Crisp Cantaloupe was embossed with the Modern Mosaic EF and adhered over the specialty window sheet.  I was careful to place ahdesive on the window sheet so that it was hidden by the Crisp Cantaloupe CS.  The dress form was die cut out of Crumb Cake CS and I stamped a mosaic pattern from Modern Mosaic on it.  A piece of the retired SAB ribbon in Pool Party finishes the dress form. A greeting stamped with Coastal Cabana ink and die cut with a Bitty Banners framelit completes the card.  I love how the colors look together, they mesh well.  I had a great time creating a card from this week's sketch, love how this turned out.

Mosaic Madness in 3D

As I mentioned earlier, I have been working on a fun 3D project with the Mosaic Madness stamp set that I am obsessed with!  I have had so much fun using this set and wanted to make something I could look at every day... on my fridge!  Here's what I made.

Using everyday, ordinary clothes pins I created fun magnetic refrigerator clips.  There are sooooo many possibilities with this project!   I went with the new Quatrefancy DSP as my color inspiration for this set, but I am definitely planning on a set with the new In Colors.  Here's a closer look at each magnetic clip.

These clips are simple to make.  I cut a strip of DSP to cover the front of my clip.  The size of the paper will vary according to the clothespins you buy.  Different stores have different sizes.  I just put a thin strip of glue over the clothes pin then place the paper on.  I used the smallest of the Windows Framelits as my base for the focal point.  I free hand paper pierced around the framelit die cut then added different mosaics from the stamp set using the coordinating punch.   I had so much fun choosing which mosaic and which color for each clip and can't wait to do more!!  The last step is the magnets.   I cut a thin strip of magnet off the roll for the top and bottom of the clip then hot glue them into place. And that 's it! Simple and functional too!  I hope you think these are as fun as I do!!
Thanks for visiting, come back tomorrow for a new Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge.  Have a great day!

See it Again Saturday

I have a fun new In Color creation to share today for See it Again Saturday.  I really loved the sketch challenge from Create with Connie and Mary this week, so I re-did the card I made Thursday.  Here is a look again at Thursday's card for CCMC253.  To see the post on this card, click HERE.

I love the new In Colors, so I used three of them on the re-make card.

I think these colors blend so beautifully!  I used Coastal Cabana,  Baked Brown Sugar, and Crisp Cantaloupe plus a dash of Soft Suede.  Just like the previous card, the base is embossed with Modern Mosaic EF.  I free hand stamped the mosaics on the Whisper White banner, love making patterns!  I added Crumb Cake taffeta ribbon which looks perfect with these colors.  The final piece is the greeting from Banner Greetings stamped in Soft Suede.  I hope you like my re-make as much as I do!

Thanks for stopping by!! Check back tomorrow for the 3D Mosaic project that I talked about sharing this week.

Flashback Friday

It's Friday, time to flash back with another great retired stamp set.  Today I am featuring I Love Soccer which I believe is from 2006.

I have seen a couple of cool cards using the Honeycomb EF to make a soccer ball background.  That is what inspired this flashback card.

I used Whisper white as my card base and another piece of it embossed with the Honeycomb EF.  I also embossed a piece of Basic Black CS to cut out the individual hexagons.  I arranged my pattern then glued the pieces in place to complete the background.  I made a small banner with black and whtie CS and simply stamped the greeting with StazOn Black ink.  A soccer ball hand cut out completes the card.  This is a fun and simple card...love it!

Mosaic Madness Birthday for CCMC253

It's Thursday, so we have a new challenge over at Create with Connie and Mary.  This week it's a great sketch challenge.

I used Mosaic Madness for my card this week, can't put that set down!

I went with bold colors and LOVE how this card turned out!  I used Rich Razzleberry for my card base, embossed with the Modern Mosaic EF.  I added in Bermuda Bay which looks amazing with the Razzleberry.

The mosaic pattern was stamped on Whisper White CS free hand.  Ribbon and a greeting complete the card.  I really love how the Bermuda Bay and Rich Razzleberry compliment each other, just gorgeous!

I hope you will join in the challenge too and create a card with the fantastic sketch we have for this week.  Just go to Create with Connie and Mary for more details and to link up your creation.

Thanks for stopping by!! See you tomorrow for another Flashback Friday!

New In Colors!

This year with the new catalog we get new In Colors!!  I am really loving the colors we get this time around, they are gorgeous! I made 3x3 cards for you to see how gorgeous they really are. First up is Strawberry Slush.

For this card, I used a layer of Whisper White embossed with the new Modern Mosaic Embossing folder.  I die cut a piece of the new Quatrefancy Specialty DSP with the Windows Framelits.  I also die cut Whisper White CS and stamped one of the mosaic stamps  with the Strawberry Slush.  The greeting stamp that I placed inside the mosaic is from Teeny Tiny Wishes and it fit perfectly!  I am loving this color, it's really yummy!  Let's move on to Crisp Canteloupe.

For this card, I used several of the Mosaic Madness stamps to create a fun pattern.  I was using clear mount stamps, so I just free handed the stamping.  I added in a greeting using the new hostess set Banner Greetings.  This is a gorgeous color!  Let's check out the next on the list, Pistachio Pudding.

This is another yummy color!  I used the new Mosaic Madness again and made a pattern free hand.  This is my favorite pattern from all the cards I made.  I added a greeting from Banner Greetings again.  A very fun card!  The next color is Coastal Cabana.

This is my favorite new In Color.  I just love it!  Once again for this card I free hand stamped a mosaic pattern.  There are so many design options with the Mosaic Madness set.  You can make your own DSP!  For the greeting, I die cut the smallest Window Framelit then added a greeting from A Round Array that was punched with the 7/8" Scallop Circle Punch.  Now for the last color, Baked Brown Sugar.

Yet another delicious color!  Once again I free hand stamped a mosaic pattern.  I used A Round Array for the greeting punched with the 7/8" Scallop Circle punch.

I had so much fun making all these cards!  The Mosaic Madness set has so many design options.  It is really a fun set to use, a real must have!  And the new In Color Collection is another must have.  I know that I will be using all of these colors a ton in the future.

Thanks for stopping by!  I have a fun 3D project in the works to showcase the Quatrefancy DSP and Mosaic Madness, so be sure to stop back!

Mosaic Madness for TSSC264

It's Monday already and time for a new sketch for the Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge at Technostamper.  Here's a look at this week's sketch.

I have been having a ton of fun using the new Mosaic Madness stamp set, so of course I used it for this challenge!

My color inspiration came from the piece of Quatrefancy DSP that I picked.  The colors are Island Indigo, Pool Party, and Soft Sky.  The Island Indigo card base was embossed with the Modern Mosaic EF.  I added a layer of Soft Sky CS next.  Then I added in the design elements.  The DSP was layered over a strip of Island Indigo to make it pop.  I die cut a piece of Soft Sky CS with the smallest Window framelit and stamped a mosaic on it with Island Indigo.

I decided to make the mosaic pattern pop more by stamping with Island Indigo on Whisper White CS and cutting them out.  I adhered them to the originally stamped design with dimensionals.  I added small pearls to the center of each mosaic as a finishing touch.  I layered my framelit cut out to Island Indigo CS and hand cut around the framelit to add a matting.  This piece was adhered to the center of the DSP with a dimensional.  The last thing to add was a greeting.  I used Teeny Tiny Wishes for the greeting which was stamped in Island Indigo.  A couple pearls on each side of the greeting and my card is complete!

You can see the cards made by the other members of the design team by

challenge this week, just go to Technostamper to find out more and link up your card!
