Good as Gold

Welcome back! It is Week 2 for the Spring Collection 2014 at Create with Connie and Mary and today my second project is available.  I had a blast designing the gift set for this collection.  It is exclusive to subscribers so I can't give you a sneak peek.  BUT, it's not too late to subscribe if you haven't already.  You can join now and have access to all the amazing projects from the talented Design Team.  Just hop over to Create with Connie and Mary for all the deatils.

Since this week's projects in the collection are all about Sale-a-bration, I am sharing a card made with the Good As Gold Card Kit.  This is a super fun kit that makes 8 cards.  I did a little bit of a different design than what they show on the package, but that's what makes stamping so wonderful---you can do it the way you want!  Here's my take on the card kit.

I did a fun banner across the top with portions of the cut outs. The kit has extra greetings since they
include two other languages. I cut the end off of banners from the French greetings and used them for my banner!

I also used two of the gold banners that are included, with the stars from them added to the smaller banners.

Since I had a bold and bright banner, I went simple with the sentiment in the bottom right corner.

This was a very quick and fun card to make, perfect when you need something fast.  You can get this card kit with a $50 product purchase during Sale-a-bration which makes it even better!

Thanks for stopping by today!  I will have my Saturday challenge card for Create with Connie and Mary to share with you tomorrow.  I hope you will stop back!

Spring Collection runs January 19th through February 15th!

 Only $29.95 US

Petal Parade for CCMC288

It's Thursday and time for a new challenge from Create with Connie and Mary.  We have three great colors to work with, take a look.

These are colors that I may not have put together otherwise.  I wasn't sure what I wanted to do at first, but after I got stamping was very pleased with the results.

Isn't this fun!  Bold, bright and will hopefully make someone feel better!  I love the bold stamps with these colors.  Tangerine Tango is a color that I don't use often.  It looks wonderful with the Baked Brown Sugar and Coastal Cabana.  I think this is now one of my favorite color changes to date!

I stamped the flowers on the lower right corner, no specific pattern, I just wanted it to flow across.

The greeting is from A Dozen Thoughts, stamped with Coastal Cabana.  The scallop boarder beneath it is in Baked Brown Sugar.  The whole thing is die cut with a circle framelit then framed with Coastal Cabana Stretch Trim.  The final touch is a few Coastal Cabana flowers punched from one of the punches in the Itty Bitty Punch Pack and scattered around the card.

This turned out to be a quite a cheerful card that will hopefully brighten someone's day.  Hop over to Create with Connie and Mary for more wonderful samples from the Design Team.  You can also find out more about the Spring Collection 2014.  We are in the second week with lots more to come.  You can still join in the fun, it's not too late!

Thanks for visiting today!  Come on back tomorrow for my next card creation!

Getting Organized

Today I have a tip for you instead of a card.  Remember the Valentine treat that I made out of a plastic baby food container??  Well, I have another use for those containers that I'd like to share with you.

I love to save containers of all sizes to either upcycle or use in some way.  The plastic baby food containers are so handy for many things.  My favorite use is storage in my craft room.  I keep extra punch outs and die cuts neatly organized in containers and on a shelf for easy access.  I can't tell you how much time I've saved by just reaching for a container and already having a butterfly die cut ready to go.

I will usually die cut extra butterflies or hearts whenever I make a card so I have extras for when I'm in a hurry.  And my 8 year old daughter loves to dig through my extras and make cards of her own.

I hope you enjoyed today's quick organizing tip!  See you tomorrow for this week's Thursday Challenge from Create with Connie and Mary.
