Peachy Keen Jellybean!

I used to love to say "Peachy Keen Jellybean" when I was younger so when I first saw the new Occasions catalog I smiled!  The Peachy Keen stamp set is right up my alley!!  I haven't had the chance to use the bundle much so I pulled it out for this week's Monday Lunchtime Sketch challenge.

This sketch is perfect for the Peachy Keen stamps and Gorgeous Grunge.

Putting together a fun yet fast card is always a good thing!  I had this card complete in 15 minutes flat...and that's with a fussy baby hanging out next to me in his stroller!

The card base is Tangerine Tango with a simple layer of Whisper White.

The right side has Gorgeous Grunge stamped with Coastal Cabana and Baked Brown Sugar.  I didn't want to over do it and make the card too busy, I wanted the greeting to stand out.

Peachy Keen definitely stands out when stamped boldly in Tangerine Tango.  I must admit that up until the last week or so, I hardly ever used this color.  Now, I feel like I am using it constantly!

The last part of the design is washi tape and an arrow.  I am LOVING the washi tape and quickly figuring out why it's so popular.  In two seconds flat I had the washi tape in the corner...super quick....super easy!  An arrow stamped with Baked Brown Sugar and die cut was added over the washi tape with a dimensional to finish off the card.

Now it's your turn!  Pull out your stamps and join us!  You can find all the details about the challenge and more great cards at Technostamper.

Scallop Tag Treat

Welcome back!  To all of you who stopped by during the Blog Hop yesterday, THANK YOU!  It was a great kick off for the new Card "Create"tions Collection starting tomorrow!  During the three weeks of the collection we will be sharing a small favor on Saturdays that compliments our cards.  I decided to do a favor to share with you today that goes with yesterday's Card in a Box.

Isn't this fun!  I used my scraps from yesterday to put this cute little chocolate holder together.
The holder is a piece of Pear Pizzaz cut 1 15/16" x 6" then punched with the Scallop Tag on each end.  I scored it in the center at 3".

I added a square of Daffodil Delight polka dot DSP to the front before adding the greeting.  To make the white label stand out, I punched a 1 3/4" circle of Tangerine Tango card stock to place underneath.

I placed a chocolate inside with a tiny bit of SNAIL to hold it in place.  Then I used Daffodil Delight 1/4" Stitched Grosgrain ribbon to tie the favor shut.

The last little detail was a small flower from the Itty Bitty Punch Pack with a Tangerine Candy Dot.

Give today's favor a try, it's a great little treat to put together using your scraps.

I hope you will be joining us for the new collection starting tomorrow!  If you haven't subscribed yet, you can go to Create with Connie and Mary for all the details!

Thanks for visiting!  Happy Stamping!

Card "Create"tions Blog Hop!

Welcome to today's special BLOG HOP with the Design Team for the Create with Connie and Mary Card "Create"tions Collection.  I am super excited to be a part of the team, this is such a talented group of ladies.  If you are following the loop, you should be coming from Melissa Davie's blog, she is such an amazing artist!  I always get inspired to create when I see her work!

For my card, I decided to go big and try something new.  So, I made a card in a box since I have seen so many cute ideas floating around.  I have to say, this is such a FUN design!  I know I will be doing more of these, they are really fun to create.

Isn't this a fun, bright card!  I love the color combo of Pear Pizzaz, Tangerine Tango and Daffodil Delight.  They are the perfect colors for a floral Mother's Day card.

Here's a look from the top, you can see the greeting better from this angle.  I wanted the card to fold flat and fit into an envelope, so I attached the greeting to the second insert inside the card.  Here's a look at it folded.

As I put the card together, I frequently folded it to make sure nothing was sticking out too far.  This card will need to travel to my Mom in the mail in a couple months!

I went pretty basic with the box itself, polka dot paper from the Bold Brights DSP Pack are on all sides.  I started layering flowers and leaves in next.

Here's the other side, I kept things uniformed.

The back of the card has leaves and flowers stamped plus the greeting.  There is a little boo-boo that I will have to find a way to fix...baby Samuel was being a fussy guy and I set the card on top of my open Daffodil ink pad....not a good thing!  But, boo-boo's happen to everyone, so you just have to go with the flow!  If the card wasn't already complete and the baby wasn't crying, the perfectionist in me would have ripped off the back and done a new one.  I am sure my Mom will understand!

Well, I hope you enjoyed my bold and bright Mother's Day card.  The next stop is Debbie Henderson's blog, she always has something beautiful to inspire us with. So, enjoy all the wonderful ideas as you travel along with us!
