Spring Collection 2015 Week 2 Blog Hop!

It's hard to believe, but we are at the end of the second week of the Spring Collection 2015 from Create with Connie and Mary.  As with each week, we do a blog hop on Saturday to showcase the set we used for our project.  If you started at the beginning, you should be arriving from Melissa's blog.  I loved her project for this week!  She is just too clever!

http://www.createwithconnieandmary.com/

My project for this week featured From the Garden and Handpicked Framelits on page 20 of the Occasions Catalog.  This set can easily be over looked, but I saw potential as I love to garden!  I had so much fun making my Create project and love the way it turned out!  I had just as much fun creating cards to share with you today.  In fact, I made THREE cards, each one is just a little different.

All of the cards are on a Whisper White card base with flowers from Painted Petals stamped in Marina Mist.

For the first card, I added a tag with the sentiment on a banner.

Under the tag is a couple of banners, So Saffron and Typeset Designer Series Paper.  I added a staple to the end of the banners and a couple of pearls to the sentiment.

Card 2 has a slightly different set up.  The background stamping is the same, but now the sentiment and banners have changed.  I added a small piece of doily, Natural Chevron Ribbon, and a banner from Typeset Designer Paper.  Over that I used the oval garden pick framelit to create a Pear Pizzaz base for my sentiment.

I cut a banner with my paper snips for the sentiment and added it to the pick with a small piece of dimensional.  A sweet bow and pearl are the finishing touches to the card.

And lastly is card 3.  This time I used the largest garden pick framelit and layered it over washi tape and Typeset Designer Paper.  The sentiment is cut with the small banner from Bitty Banner framelits and added with a piece of dimensional.

I kept the sentiment simple then finished off the card with a few small pearls scattered about.

I hope these cards will get you to take a second look at From the Garden and the Handpicked Framelits!  I had so much fun making these cards and my Create project.  Now it's time to move on to Debbie Henderson's blog, she had such a fun project for Create this week, I can't wait to see what she will be sharing with us today!

Chapstick From the Garden

Today I have a fun little gift idea to share with you.  It's one I've done many different ways, but I still love it.

It's a sweet little chapstick holder.  I love small gifts to say thank you and this one fits the bill, who doesn't love chapstick?!  With spring coming closer (not fast enough!) I thought a floral holder would be a nice idea.  I've been using From the Garden all week, it's the set featured in my exclusive tutorial for the Spring Collection 2015 from Create with Connie and Mary.  It's a really fun set that can be more versatile than you think.  I love using the garden picks for my sentiments, you'll get to see more examples tomorrow.

I kept the inside simple and used a die cut from the mini Treat Bag Thinlet.  As you can see, a tube of chapstick fits just right in the holder.

The holder is easy to make, I have a tutorial that I made a few years ago HERE for you to follow.

Thanks for visiting with me today.  If you've not become a subscriber for the Spring Collection 2015 so you can have access to all of the wonderful tutorials, it' not too late!  You can still join us, just visit Create with Connie and Mary for all the details!

Guy Greetings for CCMC340

It's Thursday and time for a challenge from Create with Connie and Mary.  This week is a color challenge using Basic Gray, Lost Lagoon, and Sahara Sand.

These colors are perfect for a masculine card, so I pulled out the new set Guy Greetings and made a birthday card for my Father-in-Law.

This was such a fun card to create, I used one of the stamps from Best Year Ever to make a really fun sentiment.

I stamped the "Best.Day.Ever." sentiment on Very Vanilla then die cut it with a Banner Framelit.  Next, I stamped "Father" from Guy Greetings with Basic Gray on Lost Lagoon and die cut it with a banner from the Circle Flip Card Thinlet set.  It fit perfect over "Day." and made a new sentiment!

The card came together quickly once the sentiment was taken care of.  I used a Sahara Sand card base with a layer of Basic Gray then a layer of designer paper from the Adventure Bound paper stack.  I stamped "Hats off to you" along the bottom of the designer paper then adhered the banner above.  And since my Father-in-Law wears lots of hats, I stamped a couple with Basic Gray to fussy cut and add to the card.  I think this will be the perfect birthday card for him!!

Now it's your turn to stamp!  Why not join the challenge this week??  Just go to Create with Connie and Mary for all the details plus more great samples from the Design Team.

Thanks for visiting! Happy Stamping!

We are in Week 2, but you can still join us for the fun!!  We have lots of amazing projects for you, more details at Create with Connie and Mary!
