Catalog CASE

Today I'd like to share a card that I made that was inspired by a sample in the new 2011-2012 Idea Book and Catalog.  I needed a birthday card and thought the card on page 91 for Look Who's Turning was really cute.  I changed up the colors and the animal.  Here's my CASE of the card.

I kept the design of the card the same, but changed the colors.  I used a chipboard 2 which I traced on tempting turquoise and cut out.  I was pleased with the results and will probably go back and make more in the same design with different colors.  I really liked the layering of the top note on a piece of card stock with the scallop border underneath.  These colors worked well together, and was the perfect card for a pool party!  Here's a close up.

I will be rescheduling the class from last Tuesday that I had to cancel.  We had gotten a bad thunderstorm Monday night and lost power.  We didn't get our power restored until Thursday night.  It was a very long 3 days and 3 nights in the heat and humidity.  Not to mention hard on the wallet running a generator to keep the fridge and deep freezer going off and on to save our food.  Anyway, I will set a new date and you can e-mail or call to let me know if you can make it.  I have a Chocolate and Chatting night this Friday.  There will be 2 make-n-takes then the rest is your choice. You can start a new project or finish one you've started.  I also have a new class in the works for Technique Tuesday in August.  It will be August 16th from 6:30pm -8:30pm.  I will be posting those samples soon.  You will love it, I will be showing you how to double emboss with the Big Shot...a really COOL technique.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  If you need any supplies you can always shop on my Demonstrator Business Website any time of the day or night.  Be sure to check out the Clearance Rack for some good deals.  Also, if you'd like to become a Demonstrator and enjoy all the perks that go with it, now is the time to sign up.  There is a $99 special going on and you even get a FREE extra Christmas Box with lots of goodies.  You can see more about that in the post below.

Faux Mother of Pearl Cards

I am doing a new series of classes called Technique Tuesday and Faux Mother of Pearl is the first class next week.  I saw Dawn Olchefske do a beautiful card with the technique and I knew it was one I had to try.
Here are the two cards I came up with for my class.

This first card uses the beautiful set Always Elegant on page 80 of the Idea Book and Catalog.  I paired Crumb Cake and Pink Pirouette for a soft look.

In the close up you can see the shimmer from the faux mother of pearl effect.  In person it really looks beautiful and elegant.

This picture shows both cards that we will be making.  The second card is done with the Easter Blossoms set that was offered in the Occasions Mini Catalog.  I just love the flowers and thought they were perfect for the Mother of Pearl technique.
If you are in my area, Cincinnati/Dayton Ohio, you can go to my Demonstrator Website and check out my calander for a listing of classes that I'm offering.  You can also order products online from the wesite as well by clicking on shop now  in the top right corner.  Better yet, you can earn FREE stamps by booking a party.  The new hostess benefits are amazing and I love the hostess sets that are offered.  Here's more information:
