Catalog CASE

Today I'd like to share a card that I made that was inspired by a sample in the new 2011-2012 Idea Book and Catalog.  I needed a birthday card and thought the card on page 91 for Look Who's Turning was really cute.  I changed up the colors and the animal.  Here's my CASE of the card.

I kept the design of the card the same, but changed the colors.  I used a chipboard 2 which I traced on tempting turquoise and cut out.  I was pleased with the results and will probably go back and make more in the same design with different colors.  I really liked the layering of the top note on a piece of card stock with the scallop border underneath.  These colors worked well together, and was the perfect card for a pool party!  Here's a close up.

I will be rescheduling the class from last Tuesday that I had to cancel.  We had gotten a bad thunderstorm Monday night and lost power.  We didn't get our power restored until Thursday night.  It was a very long 3 days and 3 nights in the heat and humidity.  Not to mention hard on the wallet running a generator to keep the fridge and deep freezer going off and on to save our food.  Anyway, I will set a new date and you can e-mail or call to let me know if you can make it.  I have a Chocolate and Chatting night this Friday.  There will be 2 make-n-takes then the rest is your choice. You can start a new project or finish one you've started.  I also have a new class in the works for Technique Tuesday in August.  It will be August 16th from 6:30pm -8:30pm.  I will be posting those samples soon.  You will love it, I will be showing you how to double emboss with the Big Shot...a really COOL technique.
