A Secret Garden for CCMC248

It's Thursday and time for a new challenge at Create with Connie and Mary.  This week is a color challenge, and for me it really was a challenge!  I don't use any of these colors very often.

Since I wasn't sure where I wanted to go with these colors, I pulled out stamps that always give me inspiration.....Secret Garden.  Obviously the Gumball Green was perfect for leaves, Summer Starfruit for the flowers, and Midnight Muse for the card base.  Here's what I came up with.

The Midnight Muse base card was embossed with the Honeycomb EF for texture.  The flowers were stamped on Summer Starfruit with Versamark and heat embossed using clear embossing powder.  I gave the flower more dimension by cutting out an extra center for each and popping it up with dimensionals.  Here's a close up view.

To finish off the flowers, I added a pearl to the center.  The leaves were die cut from Gumball green cs and a vein was added to each leaf with an embossing stylus.  Lastly, the greeting from Teeny Tiny Wishes was stamped in Midnight Muse on Summer Starfruit and die cut with a Bitty Banner framelit.

I was quite pleased how the card turned out with these colors that I haven't done much with in the past.  I am thinking that I'll have to pay more attention to them in the future!  I hope you will challenge yourself and join in the color challenge at Create with Connie and Mary.  Just hop on over to their website for all the details and link up your card!

See you tomorrow for Flashback Friday!!

If it doesn't move...stamp it!!!

This card is lovely! You really created a sweet, girlie card with the embossing and pearls. I also like how you added the hexagon background. It looks like flowers on a fence!

Pretty card, Nicole. I really like how you did the veining in the leaves and how you popped the center of the flower up.
