Coral Botanical Bloom

The new BOTANICAL BLOOMS BUNDLE has a lot going on with it's gorgeous flowers and leaves but is it something to use for a clean and simple card??  The answer is YES!

You're Awesome by becreativewithnicole.com

I took just one leaf and one flower to create a crisp and clean card for a friend.

botanical bloom

This particular flower from the BOTANICAL BUILDER framelits is my favorite by far!  I love the dimension you get with two layers of petals.  I gave them life by taking my stylus and paper piercing mat and rolling over the petals so they'd curl.  I wanted the flower to really stand out, so the Pear Pizzaz leaf was stamped on the card before adding the flower.  It compliments the Calypso Coral bloom beautifully!

You're Awesome

Along with the simple flower is a simple sentiment.  I isolated part of a stamp from BOTANICALS FOR YOU and added it to the card with BLACK ARCHIVAL INK.  Using black ink really makes the sentiment stand out from the flower.  I think it's the ink I used most lately, it's a real must have!

Shake it Up!

Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!  This week we are all about shaker cards....woo hoo, just my style!

I was so excited to make another shaker this week, I didn't know where to start!!  I knew that spring colors were a must so that guided me to this......

For You shaker becreativewithnicole

Seriously springy, right??  I really love the bold greeting against all the soft colors, really makes it pop!

For you shaker

It all started with the Sale-a-bration set BOTANICALS FOR YOU.  I love the small flowers with the ginormous greeting.  BUT, the greeting was way too big for what I needed, so I used a bit of painters tape to mask off the word "just" so that "for you" would fit just right!

For You Shaker becreativewithnicole.com

Inside the shaker I placed small punched flowers along with silver and white sequins.  I also added a few flowers to the front of the card to dress it up a bit.  I think I achieved what I was going for, I really see spring when I look at this happy card!  Check out the supply list, I've added all the products I used so you can make your own happy spring shaker!

Reason for the Season

I'm going clean and simple today with REASON FOR THE SEASON.  I was looking to make a card that would be easy to replicate for my holiday cards to send out this year.  I think this one will fit the bill, elegant yet simple.

Reason for the Season becreativewithnicole.com

The color for the card base is a a fun twist, gray isn't usually a color that ends up in my holiday cards, but I think it really works!  Guess where I got the idea....

CCMC384

Yep, the Create with Connie and Mary Color Challenge!  I love the idea of using unusual colors for holiday cards, so this was a great opportunity to take advantage of that.

poinsettia

The Smokey Slate base gives the poinsettia a chance to really stand out. After I stamped the flower outline and extra color for the petals, I added more color with my blender pen and ink pad.  I love how the shading is with the combo of the two.

Reason for the Season

I also added a little texture with the Gently Falling embossing folder.  I love the contrast with the crisp white circle and black ink sentiment.  Now I just need to make about 20 more and fill them all out to mail!

Snowy Wonderland

Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!  This week we are featuring Christmas cards using BLUE,WHITE and SILVER.

create blog hop badge

I'm back with another shaker, I thought today's hop would be perfect for this snowy scene.

Wonderland shaker card by becreativewithnicole.com

Isn't this wonderful!  I bought a bag full of little snow beads last year and have a ton left to use, so here we go!  The perfect stamp set for this type of card, WONDERLAND.

Wonderland shaker

Here's a close up of the shaker.  I stamped the trees in Night of Navy then added silver stars and the snow beads.  To dress up the shaker, I gave it a silver glimmer frame.

For a bit more silver and to continue with the snow theme, I added Winter Wonderland Vellum over Whisper White.  This softness allows the bold silver embossed sentiment to really stand out.  I am so pleased with the silver snowscape, what do you think?

Cozy Christmas

I have a really fun shaker for you today!  I made a cozy little snow globe with Cozy Christmas.

Cozy Christmas becreativewithnicole.com

Bet you didn't expect these colors for a Christmas shaker card!  I know it's a little unusual, but I think it works.  Guess where I got this color combo?? Yep, it's from Create with Connie and Mary!

CCMC380

I love being able to use black glimmer paper for something other than Halloween, so that's how this card got started!  I pulled out my glimmer paper and the Winter Wonderland Vellum.  The black stripes look amazing with the black glimmer.

Cozy christmas shaker

I kept the center of the card neutral with Smokey Slate which makes the bold red glimmer sentiment really pop.

Cozy Christmas Shaker becreativewithnicole.com

I couldn't resist adding in a few silver sequins, I figured the card could handle just a little more bling!  Lots of glimmer today for this fun shaker with non-traditional colors.  I didn't have Cozy Christmas on my radar at first, but I am so glad I bought it!  That's it for me today, see you Saturday for the Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!

Glimmer Leaves

Last week I shared a card with a gold glimmer leaf that I just loved.  So, I had to do another card with the beautiful glimmer leaves.

Lighthearted Leaves by becreativewithnicole.com

Isn't this gorgeous!  The design is simple so the leaves can take center stage.  I did one in gold glimmer paper and the second in the retired champagne glimmer paper.  Before I show you a close up of the leaves, I want to show you the sketch I used for today.  It's the challenge from Try Stampin' -or not- on Tuesday.

TST

I turned my card from landscape to portrait and I was a little liberal with the designs in the center.  I used the two leaves and a sentiment.  In fact, this card is all about the Big Shot, I didn't do any stamping!

glimmer lighthearted leaves

Each leaf is popped up with dimensionals on the woodgrain embossed cardstock (Sahara Sand).  The sentiment die cut from Seasonal Frames Thinlits is done in Early Espresso to stand out from all the glimmer.

Grateful Lighthearted Leaves by becreativewithnicole.com

Lastly, I added in a couple of sequins to complete the design.  This card was quick and easy, but still has a lot of sparkle and wow!

I hope you'll take a few minutes and the join the challenge with me!  You can find all the details plus more beautiful samples from the Design Team at Try Stampin' -or not- on Tuesday.

Golden Thank You

Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!  This week we are featuring FALL CARDS using the 2014-2016 In Colors.

create blog hop badge

I focused on Lost Lagoon and Hello Honey with a touch of gold.

Give Thanks by becreativewithnicole.com

I love all the colors and textures, makes this card very warm and inviting!

Gold Glimmer leaf

I did a simple sentiment from Thankful Forest Friends in Tip Top Taupe which coordinates nicely with Lost Lagoon and Hello Honey.

Give Thanks by becreativewithnicole

I layered in the Lost Lagoon and Hello Honey with a bit of texture and washi tape for interest.  The finishing (and my favorite!) touch is the gold shimmer leaf.  I usually stamp the leaves then die cut them, this is my first plain old leaf!  But in gold, it really isn't plain!

Supplies:

Stamps: Thankful Forest Friends

Paper: Lost Lagoon, Hello Honey, Tip Tip Taupe, Gold Shimmer

Inks:  Tip Top Taupe

Accessories:  Leaflets Framelits, Deco Labels Framelits, Woodgrain Embossing Folder, Bohemian Washi Tape, Gold Sequin Trim
