A Nice Pot of Tea

Another challenge we had for the Creative Crew this month was to make a card with a positive /negative design.  Can you guess what I made........

Teariffic by becreativewithnicole.com

If you guessed a shaker you were right!  It's been awhile since I've made a shaker so this was the first thing that came to mind!  A Nice Cuppa and the coordinating Cups & Kettle Framelits made this a tea-riffic shaker card!

I wanted it to look like you were pouring a cup of tea, so I used gold microbeads inside the tea pot.  I also added a few sequins under the spout to look like the tea was pouring out.

This is such a fun stamp and framelit set!  You can get them both for 15% off when you purchase the bundle....isn't that fantastic!!  They work together beautifully as the framelits have some things that you don't get in the stamp set.  So many ways to use these!

Wonderland Flat Shaker

I've been away for a week, sorry I haven't shared any ideas with you.  We just moved to a new house after living at the previous house for over ten years.  Do you know how much stuff a family of 5 can collect in that amount of time??  A LOT!!  We are exhausted but glad to be settling into our new home.  Things are still chaotic, but I am SO READY to get back to stamping and sharing!!

Here's a fun card I made before all the moving started, it's with my favorite set WONDERLAND.

Wondeand Flat Shaker becreativewithnicole.com

I just love these flat shakers!  It's hard to see in the picture, but there are trees stamped behind the vellum.  I wanted a winter woods effect with the sequins acting like snowflakes.  I even threw in a few of the snowflakes from last year's holiday catalog because they were a perfect fit.

Wonderland

Since the trees in the background are harder to see, I added a couple tree tops to the vellum.  I love that they match perfectly with the washi tape......Mossy Meadow is such a lovely color for pine trees!

I added a couple of sequins to the front of the card as well.  They matched nicely with the silver embossed sentiment.  I don't think I can get enough of silver embossing and sequins this holiday season!

I'm back with another shaker, I thought today's hop would be perfect for this snowy scene.

Wonderland shaker card by becreativewithnicole.com

Isn't this wonderful!  I bought a bag full of little snow beads last year and have a ton left to use, so here we go!  The perfect stamp set for this type of card, WONDERLAND.

Wonderland shaker

Here's a close up of the shaker.  I stamped the trees in Night of Navy then added silver stars and the snow beads.  To dress up the shaker, I gave it a silver glimmer frame.

For a bit more silver and to continue with the snow theme, I added Winter Wonderland Vellum over Whisper White.  This softness allows the bold silver embossed sentiment to really stand out.  I am so pleased with the silver snowscape, what do you think?

Cozy Christmas

I have a really fun shaker for you today!  I made a cozy little snow globe with Cozy Christmas.

Cozy Christmas becreativewithnicole.com

Bet you didn't expect these colors for a Christmas shaker card!  I know it's a little unusual, but I think it works.  Guess where I got this color combo?? Yep, it's from Create with Connie and Mary!

CCMC380

I love being able to use black glimmer paper for something other than Halloween, so that's how this card got started!  I pulled out my glimmer paper and the Winter Wonderland Vellum.  The black stripes look amazing with the black glimmer.

Cozy christmas shaker

I kept the center of the card neutral with Smokey Slate which makes the bold red glimmer sentiment really pop.

I couldn't resist adding in a few silver sequins, I figured the card could handle just a little more bling!  Lots of glimmer today for this fun shaker with non-traditional colors.  I didn't have Cozy Christmas on my radar at first, but I am so glad I bought it!  That's it for me today, see you Saturday for the Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!

Birthday Bear

Guess what today is!!  If you said that the HOLIDAY CATALOG is LIVE you are CORRECT!  I am sooooo excited about all of the GORGEOUS holiday products that you can order NOW!!  So, how about I give you a fun card that will inspire you to buy THANKFUL FOREST FRIENDS and LIGHTHEARTED LEAVES.

Bear Shaker by becreativewithnicole.com

Is this too cute!!  I combined the leaves and INTO THE WOODS Designer Series Paper to make a very fall inspired SHAKER!  The bear was the cherry on top, he's so stinkin' cute!

I got the inspiration for this card from the cool sketch challenge at Try Stampin'-or not-on Tuesday.

TST

I was so excited to see the theme was shakers, and I really like this simple design.

Bear Birthday Shaker by becreativewithnicole.com

The shaker background is colorful leaves from LIGHTHEARTED LEAVES.  They give color but don't take away from the sequins.  And of course my favorite part is the sweet little bear.  I love how he looks with the combo of the wood grain design from INTO THE WOODS Designer Series Paper and the leaves.....he's in his element!  If you'd like to know more about how I make shakers, click HERE.

I hope you'll give a shaker a try this week and join the sketch challenge with me!  Go to Try Stampin'-or not- on Tuesday for all the details plus more great samples from the Design Team.

Trick or Treat!

Have I told you how much I am loving HOWL-O-WEEN TREATS??  I am a sucker for stamp sets that come with coordinating framelits and when they are bundled with a discount, well...who can resist?!

For today's card though, I didn't need the framelits, I went simple and let the bold sentiment take center stage.

Trick or Treat by becreativewithnicole.com

Isn't this fun!!  Bet you guessed it was going to be a SHAKER!  What got me thinking about doing this one was not only the nice bold sentiment, but the cool new HAPPY HAUNTING DESIGNER WASHI TAPE.

Shaker close up

I love this style of shaker, they are easy to make and easy to mail!  I added silver sequins that I took from the Cottage Greetings Card Kit and BLACK GLIMMER paper stars made with the Confetti Star Border Punch.

Shake it Up Part Two!

As promised I am back with another bold shaker card.  This one uses the sketch from Try Stampin' on Tuesday.

As with the first shaker card, I went bold with black and white plus a splash of color.

Isn't this just too much fun!!  I simply LOVE the March My Paper Pumpkin so I thought why not make a shaker??!!  What got me thinking about it was the fun little epoxy stickers.

As you can probably tell, the card doesn't just use the one paper pumpkin.  I actually took from the All Shook Up December 2014 My Paper Paper Pumpkin.  The sequins in the kit went perfect with the Pool Party epoxy sticker.  I also used the dimensional strips to form the shaker.  Guess where I pulled the shaker portion from??  Hello Life Project Kit!!  They have great chalkboard frames in the kit that were just right for this card.

The "Thank" is heat embossed in white to stand out.  I could have used white craft ink, but it would take awhile to dry and I was feeling impatient!  Since there wasn't an "s" on the sentiment, I added "you" to the inside of the card.

Pretty cool huh!!  I tried adding a die cut "u" after "thank", but it just didn't look right.  So the Hello You thinlets came to my rescue!

Now it's your turn to make a card and join us this week!!  You can give a shaker card a try or do whatever inspires you at the moment!   All the details about the challenge plus lots of inspiration from the Design Team is at Try Stampin' on Tuesday.

Thanks for visiting!! Until next time, Happy Stamping!!
