Simply Sketched for CCMC260

It’s Thursday and time for a new challenge at Create with Connie and Mary.  This week we have gorgeous colors to work with, check them out.

Aren’t these colors beautiful together!  I love the soft Crisp Cantaloupe paired with the brighter Cameo Coral.  I felt that these colors needed a flower, so I picked the Simply Sketched hostess set to make my card with.

I really enjoyed making this card, it kind of just made itself!  Here are the details:

1     I picked Crisp Cantaloupe as my card base.  Embossed it with the new Beautifully Baroque EF.

2       Picked the flower from the stamp set as my focal point.  Colored the image with markers and stamped it on Whisper White.  Die cut the image with one of the framelits from Apothecary Accents Framelits.

3       I added paper piercing around the flower using the template for my die cut from the Essentials Paper Piercing Pack.

4       Cut strips of Cameo Coral and Pistachio Pudding card stock and used the hexagon punch to make a banner on one end.   Stamped Best Wishes from the hostess set Express Yourself in Cameo Coral on the Pistachio Pudding banner.  Adhered them to the card base.  The Cameo Coral layer was first then the Pistachio Pudding layered on top.

5     Added the focal point over the banners with dimensionals.

6      Added bling!  I put two of the Large Basic Pearl Jewels above and below the flower.  Then I added the tiny pearls on the background embossing and the center of the flower.

That's it!  the card came together really quick, it just flowed.  I love when a card comes together easily and I don't have to over think it.

I     I hope you will play along and make a card too!  Hop over to Create with Connie and Mary for all the details and to link up your card.  While you are there, check out the preview of the Summer Collection 2013, it's not too late to join!  This is week three of the collection, and I am the Guest Designer for the week! So exciting to be a part of this collection!

If it doesn't move...stamp it!!
