Pennant Birthday Part Three and some fun pictures

Today I'm sharing close ups of  the card that started the whole thing!

I used Crumb Cake for the card base, I like the way it is subtle against the bolder colors for the pennants.  I went with the colors from the Just Add Cake DSP, Wild Wasabi, So Saffron, and Poppy Parade.  When I originally made the card, I didn't have the Poppy Parade accent on the bottom of the card.  It just didn't look right, too plain.  So I added the splash of Poppy Parade and it was just perfect!  I used the Scallop Border punch the mimick the scallops from the pennants, all matchy, matchy!  I didn't want to mess with string for the pennants, so I used the small flower from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack to add at the top for the finishing touch.

Next in line was the cupcake picks...you can never have too many!  I just made jungle animals for Benjamin's birthday, so the toothpicks were out on my desk calling to me!  The pennant punch is PERFECT for this idea.  I put these picks together so quick, you could easily make a bunch of these for a birthday party or other occasion.  I shared close ups in my last post.  Here are some more pictures, I have made a couple more to show you how I put them together.  I just use a couple dimensionals to attach the toothpick and adhere the pennants together.

So there you have it, a Pennant Parade Birthday!  Here's a recap of the entire set.

I hope you can use some of these ideas for your next birthday or event, they are super easy and fun to make!
Be sure to check out the New Holiday Mini Catalog.  I have the link in the side column for you to view it.  I'd love to show you more fun projects, so please let me know if you's like to have a get together where I can show you and your guests how to make lots of holiday goodies!  You can contact me for further information, just click on the e-mail me button in the right hand column.

Now for the fun pictures.  I just had to share with you my chicken.  My last chicken....we had 9 then over the course of about a week we went down to one..sigh.  This chicken is the lone survivor and I'll show you why.

Talk about a survivalist!!  She doesn't sleep in the hen house anymore.  She has found a way to get up into the trees in our side yard!!  It's really hilarious, in fact I need to get it on video!  She goes from the fence onto the roof of our barn, then flies across and perches in the tree!  And she does this like clockwork!  What's even funnier is now that she is alone, she acts a bit like a dog.  When the kids are outside she follows them around.  She even comes to the back door looking for her food!  I guess we have to name her...she's not going anywhere!  Any suggestions??

If it doesn't move..stamp it!!

How sad for your chickens. Do you plan to get more?
What killed them?

LOL....the chicken story is great but also sad that the other 8 have gone away (hopefully to bird heaven!). Good luck with your lone survivor!

We think racoons got the other 8 chickens. We live on 12 acres with 7 of it being woods and creek, so it was bound to happen. We are definitely getting more in the spring, there is nothing like fresh eggs!!
