Thursday Create with Connie and Mary Challenge

It's hard to believe it's Thursday already! Time for another Thursday Challenge for Create with Connie and Mary.  This week is a sketch challenge that was fun to work with.

 I don't do square cards very often, so this was quite refreshing!  I actually needed to do a birthday card for my Sister-in-Law so this sketch came at the right time.  I am loving the Dress Up Framelits and wanted a WOW card for her, so here's what I came up with.

The card base and accents are in Basic Black.  I embossed a strip of the black with one of the Delicate Designs EF to add the scalloped detail along the side.  I layered Razzleberry polka dot DSP in a couple places, the base of the card and under the dress.  I liked the smaller polka dot side, more drama!  The dress form was die cut in black to bring out the Silver Glimmer paper.  I added bling to the dress with rhinestone gems and Razzleberry flowers using the Itty Bitty Shapes punch pack.  The final element was the greeting.  Happy Birthday was stamped in Rich Razzlberry on a piece of Whisper White that I die cut from the Petal Cone Bigz L.  It blended in with the white layer on the card base, so I adhered it to black and hand cut around it to make the greeting stand out.  Two flowers from the punch pack were layered to add bling and complete an element of the design.  This card came together so easily!  Once I had my colors and basic elements decided, the card practically made itself.  I hope you like it as much as I do!
