Vintage Hexagons for TSSC271

Happy Monday! I hope you all enjoyed your weekend.  We had a wonderful cookout...indoors since it rained and rained here!  Anyway, I have a card to share today for the new Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge at Technostamper.  I have been into hexagons so...more hexagons!  First a look at the sketch.

As soon as I saw the squares I thought HEXAGONS!  I used a lot of DSP and little stamping.  Take a look.

I haven't done many vintage cards lately so I felt it was time!  I have the beautiful new DSP Afternoon Picnic which has a nice vintage feel. Here's what I did:

1.  Picked out which DSP papers I wanted to use.  I ended up with two pieces in Coastal Cabana and Crushed Curry.

2.  The card base is Coastal Cabana with the polka dot DSP layered on.  The the right side was punched with the Scallop Border punch.

3.  Next layer is Very Vanilla embossed with the Honeycomb EF.  TIP:  To keep the paper from getting over embossed and tearing, I don't use any tabs on the platform when I run it through the Big Shot.

4.  Added a strip of DSP and a strip of Very Vanilla card stock with a greeting.  I stamped the greeting with Coastal Cabana.

5.  Added hexagons punched from the Crushed Curry DSP and added them to the left side.

That's it! Pretty simple yet vintage looking!  I had fun with this card.  Once I had the design in mind, it went quick since I only stamped once!
