This week's flashback is from a super cute set called Yappy Day from 2007. I haven't use this set too much, but I just love it!
I decided to go all out for this card, so I made it a pop up with lots of fun details. I am super happy with how it turned out!
The poodle is my favorite stamp in the set so I built my card around it. I stamped all my images for this card on Glossy white and colored them with markers and a blender pen. I pulled in many details both new and retired. The DSP is Nursery Nest, I love it's colors. The front is just strips of DSP and card stock made into banners with the hexagon punch. The Blushing Bride circle has paper piercing around the edge and the poodle adhered with dimensionals. Now for the inside!
I continued with the same DSP inside the card. The poodle is popped up with dimensionals on the dog house that I layered on Pear Pizzazz card stock. Here's a closer look.
I used the Dress Up Pop 'n Cuts insert , hard to tell isn't it!! That's the main purpose behind the framed sentiment. I saved the dress piece that pops out and carefully glued it in to blend in with the background, then added the frame. Now for a closer look at the bottom.
I put another circle with paper piercing like the one on the front, this one is Marina Mist. I think the polka dot DSP is so fun with this, adds a pop of color!
I had so much fun with card, I hope you enjoyed it too! Doing the flashbacks has been one of my favorite blog posts. I don't know about all of you, but I have lots of retired stamps. There is a reason we bought them, so let's use them!! It is a great challenge to update older sets with newer products. You will be amazed with the results! So while you enjoy all the new products that Stampin' Up! brings to us, pull out the oldies but goodies once and awhile and have fun updating their look!
Now on to the next Flashback Blog with my good Stampin' friend Lisa Rhine. She is an AMAZING artist, I just love everything she makes!
And don't forget about my other stamping friends, you can find them and their fabulous artwork through the links below and through the blogs as you hop along. Thanks for visiting and flashing back with me today!!
