Creation Station Blog Hop: Thankful

Welcome to the CREATION STATION BLOG HOP!  This is my first month on the team and I am super excited to be a part of this AWESOME group of stampers!

We are using fall sets this month with a THANKFUL theme and our feature product is WASHI TAPE.

I don't know about you, but I hoard washi tape just like I hoard designer paper.  It's been an ongoing process, but I am making an effort to use up (gasp!) the consumable supplies that I buy.  So, today I have used TONS of washi tape to show you how easy it is to actually use the fun accessories that you buy!

A about Washi by becreativewithnicole.com

I started out with a bunch of washi tape on my desk and thought about what kinds of fun little gifts I could make with things in my craft room.  So I dug through my drawers and came up with some coasters and tea candles.

washi coasters and tea lights

Using four colors of washi, I glammed up the plain goodies that I dug up.  The coasters are so quick to make, just apply strips of washi that overlap to the back.  I added self adhesive felt to the backs of the coasters for a nice finished look.  The tea candles were even easier, just a quick strip of washi around each then tucked them into a little ice cream dish for packaging.

I placed all four coasters plus the tea candles in the dish into a gusseted cellophane bag and added some ribbon and a tag.  Once all the goodies were complete, I moved onto a card to give with them.  Funny enough, the card took more thinking than the gifts!  I wanted to do something different and have it coordinate with the gifts.  So, I ended up going clean and simple with a strip of each color of washi tape with a sentiment tucked in between.

So Grateful for You by becreativewithnicole.com

I went with Blackberry Bliss as the color for my sentiment and card base.  I love this new In Color, it's so rich and beautiful!  With the other beautiful washi tapes, it makes this simple card really stand out!  I added in a little bling with a few gold sequins scattered over the card, gotta have my sequins!  And of course I coordinated the envelope, but not with a stamp, I added washi!

Grateful for Washi becreativewithnicole.com

I hope you've enjoyed my ideas and are ready to break out all of your washi stash!  Now it's time to head over to Jennifer Downey to see what she's done with washi and the thankful theme today.

Super ideas. Love the colors, too. Using the felt on the back will help the washi tape stay in place, too. Clever of you. Card is so cute yet easy to do. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you Cindy! I have a bunch of the coasters hanging around from years ago when they were popular, it's nice to get use from them again!

Thank you Pat! The felt really gives a finished look and it does help keep the washi in place. I got lucky that there was some with the adhesive in my drawer, made it easy to work with.
