Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop: Punch Art

I love punch art but don't find myself using it much in my cards.  So when I sat down to work on today's card I had to ponder it a bit!  I hope you will enjoy what I came up with featuring my favorite Berry Basket die and a heart punch!

Strawberries are a favorite of mine and I was so hungry by time I finished this card!  Aren't the heart strawberries sweet?!  I think adding embossing with the Decorative Dots folder really made them convincing!

With the strawberries being so bold, I felt like a bold greeting was necessary to balance things out.  So, in comes the awesome Hello You thinlets to the rescue!!  I can't say enough great things about these dies.  If you are intimidated at all about getting these thinking they are hard to work with...DON'T!!  Just be sure to use the dryer sheet technique and the die cut pops out easy peasy!

And of course a gorgeous card like this deserves a fun envelope, so I added a strawberry to it as well!

Card "Create" tions Saturday Blog Hop Week One!!

Hooray!!! It's the first blog hop for Card "Create" tions Celebrations 2015 and I am so excited you are here!!  You should be arriving from Melissa Davies' amazing blog Rubberfunatics, she is so inspiring!!   If you are getting your start here, welcome and make sure you hop all the way around so you don't miss a thing!

Each week during the collection we are featuring a small favor with the stamp set we used for our card set.  My set for this week was From the Garden and I have to say that the more I use it the more I love it!!  In fact, it goes along nicely with another product that I love, the Berry Basket die!   So can you guess what I have for you today???  Yep, a berry basket featuring From the Garden!

The story behind this basket is kind of funny, it was a duh... kinda moment.  I knew I was going to make a basket and knew I wanted to use All Abloom Designer paper.  What I didn't know was what to actually put in the basket.  As I was looking around my desk and shelf of little bits of this and that it struck me!  I have the perfect little gift already done............ the 3" x 3" watercolor cards from last week........perfect fit!

Let's get to some details about how I made this gorgeous floral basket.  The basket die cut is a good 8 1/4" long, so how do you make it with the designer paper stack that is much shorter??  Well, let me show you!

By cutting a smaller piece of designer paper to cover just the sides you can not only save paper, but you can use smaller pieces you may have hanging around.  Just line up the bottom of your paper with the crease for the bottom of each side of the basket and die cut!  That's it!  You have a designer basket in a flash!

The tag is quick and easy as well.  I created a Blushing Bride tag with the Tag Topper Punch then added a pretty garden pick and bow.  The cards got bagged up and tied with pretty White Organza ribbon and the lovely garden pick tag to top it off.   The beautiful watercolor 3" x 3" cards are a perfect match,  I love it when things work out like that for me!

Is it a Berry Basket or a Card??

Hi Stampers!  Have I told you how much I love the Berry Basket Die???  Well, if you can't tell by now.....I DO!!!  When the Occasions Catalog first came out I looked at it briefly and though....mmmm.....maybe.  But now that I have it, I can't put it away!  Last week I shared with you a card that had lavender tucked into a basket during Preview Week for Card "Create"tions Celebrations 2015.  Today my From the Garden card set goes live so I am sharing another fun berry basket card with you!

Cindee Wilkinson, a fellow stamper in the fabulous Luv to Stamp group with Patty Bennett, shared this idea a couple of weeks ago and I just went crazy over it!  It's such a clever idea, I had to give it a try.

I looked to Painted Blooms Designer Paper for inspiration.   A fun design with small flowers makes up the background.  I pulled Blackberry Bliss and Hello Honey from the design and carried them throughout the card.  The little extra touches are my favorites about the card, the doily with a small flower and the tiny bow on the garden pick.  A card like this with all the details tells someone you really care when you give it to them!  And the best part.....this card is a gift that keeps on giving as the recipient enjoys the flowers they grow!

Card "Create"tions Celebrations Preview and BLOG CANDY!!!

Woo Hoo!! Today is my turn to share a card and offer BLOG CANDY for the Create with Connie and Mary Card "Create"tions Celebrations 2015.  It's always exciting to design for their collections, I love coming up with new ideas to share with all of you!

Be sure to check out all the details about the collection, it's going to be spectacular!!  Now, onto the card I have for you today.  I am featuring one of the stamp sets that I will be using for Card "Create"tions Celebrations.

 Drum roll please.........................it's From the Garden!

Ok, this is a set that I will admit can be a bit of a challenge.  Any time a set has lots of small stamps it can be intimidating, at least to me!  That's why I took on the challenge to come up with cards to help you love this set as much as I do.  This card I have for today is one of my favorites that I've made so far.  I love combining the Berry Basket die with this set, they go together like two peas in a pod!

This card in particular was inspired by the lavender that I picked from my Mother-in-law's garden and saved for something special.  In fact, she may just get this card for Mother's Day......shhhhh don't tell!

Let me give you some quick details so we can move onto the good stuff...blog candy!  The Wisteria Wonder card base is embossed with the Spring Flowers embossing folder.  I added the berry basket (using half of one die cut) and a doily so you can see the lavender really well.  Last touch which really makes the card special is the sweet garden pick that says "Grown with Love"....it's just perfect for this card!  The edging of the pick was stamped with Blackberry Bliss then die cut with the coordinating framelit.  The sentiment is done in Wisteria Wonder with a couple of sweet doodles in Pear Pizzaz.  For the bow, I used Blackberry Bliss ink on Wisteria Wonder and die cut it to add below the sentiment.
