Sky is the Limit

I'm taking a quick break from Christmas cards to share a Sale-a-bration sneak peek with you!

Sky is the Limit by becreativewithnicole.com

It's so fun to get new stamps!  My pre-order (a perk of being a demo!) came yesterday so there was no way I could make a Christmas card with these beauties on my desk.  I went with a clean and simple card using the sketch challenge from Create with Connie and Mary.

I thought of the airplane and cloud from SKY IS THE LIMIT right away when I saw the layout of the flowers.  It ended up working out quite nicely!

I tried out a design from one of the new designer papers as well, but it blended with the Tempting Turquoise base.  So I looked at the left over pile on my desk and a strip of WINTER WONDERLAND VELLUM jumped out at me.  It made the perfect edition and kept the card clean with just the three colors.

Now that I have new goodies, I will start bringing you more sneak peeks along with Christmas ideas this month. Tomorrow stop back to see the second set of wine bottle tags that I made with Reason for the Season, they turned out so beautiful!

Cozy Christmas in Black and White

I've gone with a bit of a different color scheme for today's Christmas card.....it's all in black and white.

Cozy Christmas by becreativewithnicole.com

It all started with the WINTER WONDERLAND VELLUM STACK.  Some of the designs are black so I thought why not do an entire card with black and white.  COZY CHRISTMAS has a lovely little scene that works perfectly with the vellum that has the pine trees.

I added a layer of the BLACK GLIMMER PAPER from Halloween, it fit well with the sketch challenge I used for inspiration.

It's the sketch from Try Stampin' -or not- on Tuesday.   Now you can see how the black glimmer paper fit in so well!

I added in a couple of the larger silver sequins from the Cottage Greetings card kit and a white embossed sentiment to finish off the card.  And as always the envelope is stamped to coordinate.

I hope you'll join the challenge with me.  You have two weeks to add a card to the line up.  Just visit Try Stampin' -or not- on Tuesday for all the details plus more great samples from the Design Team.

Winter Wonderland

Welcome to the CREATION STATION BLOG HOP!  This month we are all about Christmas!  Are you ready yet?  I'm not.......I'm still in disbelief that it's December so I am excited to see the ideas the team has for us today!

One of my favorite sets in the catalog is WONDERLAND.  I love the elegant design and that it's not just for Christmas.  For today, I combined it with the coordinating WINTER WONDERLAND VELLUM STACK to create a card and set of vellum gift tags.

I started out with the idea to use the WINTER WONDERLAND VELLUM STACK for a mini treat bag to fill with tags.

The pine cone vellum is my favorite design, so I created the MINI TREAT BAG with it.  A couple of simple embellishments were just the right touch.  Sometimes less is more!

Next, I punched five different designs of vellum with the SCALLOPED TAG TOPPER PUNCH.

I tried to keep each of the tags simple and coordinated.  So in comes the SLEIGH RIDE EDGELITS and CHRISTMAS GREETINGS THINLITS.  The two work so well together and made the tags come together easily.

I think this set of tags would make a lovely gift, so I made a card to give with it.  I did another version of the BOKEH CARD from a few weeks ago.  This time I used gold accents to coordinate with the tags and added in a SNOWFLAKE ELEMENT.

Bokeh technique becreativewithnicole.com

For this subtle bokeh effect, I brayered Smokey Slate on Whisper White then added in Whisper White craft ink for the circles.  I used the same template I made for the first card.  Just take a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" piece of scrap cardstock and punch different sizes of circles to use for sponging.  To blend it all in, I went over the whole piece again with the brayer.  This gives a soft and finished look.

I hope you’ve enjoyed my ideas and are ready to dive into your WINTER WONDERLAND VELLUM STACK!  Now it’s time to head over to Julie Beltramo to see what she’s done for Christmas today.
