TSSC 250

It's Monday!  Time for the weekly TSSC Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge.  This week was a fun one for me, I did a bright and cheery birthday card using Patterned Party.  First, here is the sketch for the week.

Here is the birthday card I made with Patterned Party.

I've had this cute set for awhile now but haven't had a chance to use it yet.  Let me just say...I LOVE this set!!  So darn cute and so many design ideas.  I got this retired DSP from the clearance rack a few weeks ago, it decided my color scheme.  I loved the banners on the DSP which matched one of the stamps, so I wanted that piece for the background of the card.

I used the balloon stamp for the focus of the card, each balloon is colored by markers.  I love the bold look of the brights collection, perfect for the balloons.  The greeting is stamped with StazOn Black ink on Pumpkin Pie and die cut with a Bitty Banners Framelit.  It is hard to tell in the picture, but the the balloons and greeting are both adhered with dimensionals.  A couple other details to mention, the red paper under the focal piece is embossed with Perfect Polka Dots EF for texture.  I also added a bit of layering under the focal piece, the white by itself was too plain.  Tempting Turquoise made the piece stand out better, I hand cut the turquoise so the matting would be smaller than using a larger size die cut.

Overall I am quite pleased with this card, makes me smile....it's so bright and cheerful!  I hope you like it too!!  Thanks so much for stopping by.  You can participate in the Lunchtime Sketch Challenge too, just go to Technostamper and upload your card!

Love the bright and cheerful birthday cards! I always struggle with scenic DSP with pre-printed backgrounds. Thanks!
