Blooming with Kindness Mother's Day + How to Fix An Ink Smudge

Today I have a Mother's Day card to share made using Blooming with Kindness.  I really love this set, it has such a beautiful softness to it.  I sat down and had the entire card put together, was doing a monochromatic look, then disaster!  I had opened the card to add a greeting to the inside and forgot about the open ink pad not far away.  Take a look.

I ended up with an ink smudge on a FINISHED card...I about died!  So, I needed a quick fix to save it.  The funny part is the quick fix made the card look BETTER!  First, here is a closer look at the ink smudge.

And now take a look at my fixed card that I ended up just loving!

What do you think?  Isn't this card with the boo-boo fixed much prettier than my original card!  So needless to say, I am so glad I got ink on this card! My first thought when I saw that the ink smudge was "how do I cover this up?"  I figured flowers punched and added on would be perfect.  So I used the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack and made some flowers for that area.  But, I needed to keep the card balanced so I added flowers in other areas too.  Then, as a finishing touch, I stamped and cut out a hummingbird from Bloomin' Marvelous to put next to the flower.  Here's a closer look at the area with the smudge.

You can't even tell there's an ink smudge here.  And the bonus is that I love how this card looks much better than my original plan.  I think the addition of the Pink Pirouette makes the card design pop.

So, now if you have a little boo-boo on a card, just think about what element you can add to cover it up!  Worked for me!!
