Everyday Hero for CCMC457

Time for another sketch challenge!! This week we have a great sketch for you at Create with Connie and Mary.

ccmc457

Just like with the last sketch challenge, I used this idea to get ready for Mother's Day.  The stamp set of choice for today is EVERYDAY HERO.

Super Mom becreativewithnicole.com

This is perfect for my Mom, she really is a super hero to me!  She'll love the bright bold colors and sentiment, a great way to say how awesome she is.

The super mom is colored with watercolor pencils to get the bolder colors.  I added in extra wow factor with the stars from STAR BLAST EDGELITS as a backdrop, love the burst of Daffodil Delight!  And the sentiment is heat embossed in white on the Pacific Point to make it stand out as well.

Lots of bold colors today!  I hope you enjoyed the inspiration, there's lots more where it came from!  Just go to Create with Connie and Mary to check out the cards by all of the Design Team.

Dragonfly Dreams for CCMC454

There are several bundles from the Occasions Catalog that I have yet to work with.  So for this week's Create with Connie and Mary Color Challenge, I pulled out the DRAGONFLY DREAMS Bundle for my card.  But before I get too far ahead, let's take a look at the colors we are featuring this week.

CCMC454

Beautiful combination, don't you think??  I wanted a soft watercolor look to go with DRAGONFLY DREAMS so I paired it up with products from the April My Paper Pumpkin.

Dragonfly Dreams by becreativewithnicole.com

I used the card base and one of the watercolor papers from the kit.  Everything else was from my regular stash of products.

The water coloring shows off all three of our colors this week.  I used my aqua painter and ink pads to create the look.  I also added color to the rest of the background, a little bit of Island Indigo.  I used that same color for the dragonfly die cuts and added a bit of Wink of Stella to each to make them sparkle.

Dragonfly Dreams

The inside of the card had to be embellished as well.  The stamps from the kit along with the washi tape worked out beautifully.  The Mother's Day sentiment on the front of the card was pulled from Oh So Succulent, I thought it was a wonderful greeting to go along with the MPP stamps.  Nice to get a head start on Mother's Day this year!

Wonderful Mother

Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!  This week we are celebrating the wonderful women in our lives in honor of Mother's Day.

SpringBlogHopBadge

I've actually got NEW PRODUCTS to share with you today for my card!  I used a new bundle that includes a stamp set called SWIRLY BIRD and SWIRLY SCRIBBLES THINLITS.

Swirly Bird becreativewithnicole.com

I can see this stamp set being a new favorite!  It's got wonderful swirly flowers and all sorts of bits and pieces to create all sorts of things!  For this card, I didn't use the stamp set as much, I focused more on the coordinating SWIRLY SCRIBBLES THINLITS.

Swirly Bird

The flower is created from two die cuts done with the new In Color PEEKABOO PEACH.  I think it looks amazing against the watercolor background made with DAPPER DENIM.  It's a gorgeous new shade of blue that will be lovely for watercolor wash and many other things.

Swirly Bird by becreativewithnicole.com

I added a sentiment in bold black and white from PICTURE PERFECT.  I think it's a wonderful greeting for a Mother's Day card!  There's also a couple pops of color with the leaves in EMERALD ENVY and the splotches in DAPPER DENIM.  And as always I put a couple of sequins on, had to have those!  So what do think of this little sneak peek??  Are you ready for more?  Well, the MAY MINI SESSION from Create with Connie and Mary is all about NEW PRODUCTS!  Yep, we are working hard to bring you the latest and greatest.

Crazy About You Mom!

Guess what??  NO shaker card today!! Can you believe it??  Instead I have a sweet and soft card for the sketch challenge from Create with Connie and Mary.

I  went pretty literal with this sketch and used the flower from Crazy About you as my focal point.

Can I just say how AWESOME this stamp set is?!  You have every greeting you could ever want or need!  On top of it, you get a couple of great flowers and leaves to boot!  Since Mother's Day will be here before we know it, I went ahead and made a card for my Mom.

I love Sahara Sand with Pink Pirouette, so this card focuses on those two colors.  For a little dimension, I made the flower in three layers and added embossing to the Sahara Sand.

Something Borrowed was the perfect designer paper for this card with it's beautiful subtle look.  For balance, another splash of pink lines the left side.  I pulled the polka dots from Painted Petals, it was the perfect touch!

If you need more card ideas, I have the perfect place for you to go!  Card "Create"tions Celebrations 2015 is in full swing with loads of fabulous card ideas PLUS the instructions!!  We've done all the work for you.  For all the details, visit Create with Connie and Mary and join us!

Bet you can't guess what I'm sharing tomorrow.....one more SHAKER!!  So be sure to come back and see what I've got for you!  Until then, Happy Stamping!!

Watercolor Wonder for TSSC313

It's Monday and time for a new Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge from Technostamper!  Another great sketch this week, take a look.

I am working on using up DSP packs that I'm getting low on, so I based my card on Watercolor Wonder DSP.

The card base is Calypso Coral.  I went simple with it and didn't add any embossing...I almost did but I didn't want to detract from the DSP.

The design starts with a large circle of the polka dot design adhered to the card base.  I built upon that with a Daffodil Delight bow and then more Watercolor DSP for the banner.

The next element is the sentiment.  I die cut a Calypso Coral Apothecary Accent then added Whisper White with the Mother's Day greeting from Teeny Tiny Wishes.

Finally, I added in a few pearls on the sentiment and scattered around the card.

This was a really fun sketch to work with this week, I hope you'll join along!  Just go to Technostamper for all the details plus more great cards from the Design Team.
