A Cupcake for CCMC264

It's Thursday already and time for a new challenge at Create with Connie and Mary.  This week we have a color challenge that has a soft feminine feel.

I absolutely LOVE this color combination, it's one I haven't tried yet but will definitely use again in the future.

Isn't this a great girly birthday card!  I just love how soft and pretty this turned out.  I had Blooming with Kindness out on my desk still from some cards I just did, so I made use of it for a background.  Let me walk you through the details.

1.  Used Whisper White card stock for my card base, stamped it with Blushing Bride flowers.

2.  Die cut Blushing Bride card stock with Apothecary Framelits to serve as a mat for my focal point.

3.  Ran a piece of Pistachio Pudding card stock through the Big Shot with the oval frame embossing folder and then cut out the frame.  Stamped the bottom of the cupcake from Create a Cupcake with Smokey Slate on Whisper White.  Punched out the cupcake bottom with the Extra Large Oval Punch.  Added the top of the cupcake punched with the Cupcake Builder Punch using a dimensional, and then topped it off with a Smokey Slate flower.

4.  I took a doily and cut the center portion out so I only had the lacy part left.  I used this sort of like a ribbon and formed it into an oval and adhered it to my framed cupcake with Multi-Purpose Mono Adhesive, then adhered all that to the Blushing Bride Apothecary die cut.

5.  Lastly, I stamped the birthday greeting with Smokey Slate on Whisper White and die cut it with the largest banner from Bitty Banners Framelits.  I added it to the card with dimensionals.

That's it!  I absolutely LOVE the way it turned out, so soft and pretty.  I hope you will be inspired by these colors as well and make a card for the challenge.  For all the details and more samples, go to Create with Connie and Mary.

If it doesn't move...stamp it!!

Love how you trimmed the doily down to use as a layer behind the cupcake! Great card...so lacy and pretty!

Very pretty card and clever use of dies and punches.

Great idea to cut down the doily...sometimes it is just too big for the front of a card! I just pulled out the cupcake set this week, too...it had been neglected. Great job with the color challenge this week!

The background is so pretty and so clever! Reminds me of Toile. Absolutely darling card with so many cool elements!

I love how the cupcake is framed in the center of the card! I never would have thought to combine both these stamp sets together - looks amazing!

So clever with the doily. I couldn't figure out where it came from! Loving the layers!
