Picture Perfect

I'm taking a small break from Birthday Blooms to share a PICTURE PERFECT easel card with you.  This card was a challenge from Patty Bennett for our Luv2Stamp facebook meeting.

Doesn't this have a great soft beach feel to it!  Pool Party and Crumb Cake are perfect for representing a blue sky and warm sand!

starfish Picture Perfect

I used watercolor paper so I could create a soft background with an aqua painter and Pool Party ink.  The starfish is stamped on watercolor paper as well for the added texture.  I layered Crumb Cake and Tip Top Taupe for a realistic look.

The senitments are from two different stamp sets, but they coordinate beautifully!  The one on the card front comes with PICTURE PERFECT and I simply love it.  Such a beautiful statement!  The sentiment added to the strip of Crumb Cake that holds the easel up came from BIG NEWS.  It's part of a wedding stamp in that set so I just masked off the wedding portion and stamped "may all your dreams come true" by itself.

I hope you enjoyed today's easel card!   I love that you get to have a wow factor but it's easy to mail!  The best of both worlds for sure!

Monochromatic for CCMC337

Welcome!  It's Thursday so I have a card to share for the Thursday Challenge from Create with Connie and Mary.  This week is a sketch challenge, take a look.

This is a really fun sketch, love the banners!  I did a standard sized card in place of a square using the set Big News.

I love these larger greeting stamps, they make card designing a breeze!  When I saw the shape of the focal point, I knew that the baby sentiment would be just right.

I decided on Bermuda Bay for my color and pulled out the Brights Collection Designer paper to choose a pattern.  The chevron design is perfect for the side of the card.  I also added a little detail to the card base by stamping stars from Something to Say.

My favorite part of the card is the Silver glimmer star and banners.  Congratulations was stamped on each then added to the card with dimensionals.  The smallest star framelit was the perfect size to fit over the banners without being overwhelming.

I hope today's card has inspired you to join us!!  You can find all the details plus more great samples from the Design Team at Create with Connie and Mary.

Thanks for visiting!! Happy Stamping!

Two cards for Try Stampin' on Tuesday

Welcome back!  I have two cards to share today for this week's sketch from Try Stampin' on Tuesday.  Before I get to  my cards, here's a look at the sketch.

This is such a great sketch, it can be used in soooo many ways!  I started out with one idea that morphed into another, so I ended up with two cards.

This first card was part of my original thought process.  I wanted to do the bokeh technique for the top part of the card, but the colors I used looked more like a baby card than the birthday card I had planned.  So, I went with the flow and created a baby card.  I layered a couple of stars then added a sentiment.

This second card is more of what I had envisioned.  I used the polka dots from Dotty Angels as my top layer in place of the bokeh technique.  The sentiment from Big News is nice and bold so this card works well all in Strawberry Slush.  I added just a touch of color with the silver ribbon and sequins.

Well, I hope you feel inspired to join us!  Just go to Try Stampin' on Tuesday for all the details plus more great samples from the Design Team.
