A Floral Card for LNS Challenge

Today I am sharing a card that is different from what I normally make.  I did a card embossed with Manhattan Flower Embossing Folder then water colored.

I wanted a card that was soft and pretty, also quick to put together.  This card fit the bill.  I used water color paper so I could get the soft look that I wanted.  I colored in the roses with my aqua painter and Pretty In Pink re-inker.  I used Bashful Blue with the aqua painter for the background as well.  I added in retired Pretty In Pink 7/8" Organza Ribbon with the greeting over it.  I cut out a small Window framelit in Bashful Blue then added a Pretty in Pink Heart punch out and the Anniversary greeting.  I had first thought about just stamping a greeting in the blank area at the top, but I liked having more dimension to the card with the ribbon and greeting at the bottom.  I enjoyed making this card, definitely different than my usual design!  I have more floral cards planned, check back to see what I come up with!!

Something Green for LNS Challenge 212

Today's card was actually a special request I had from a customer.  She got married last year on St. Patrick's Day so she wanted a special card to reflect that for her first anniversary.  It just so happens that this card fits in with the LNS Challenge for the week, Celebrating St. Patrick's Day.  I made a total of 3 cards for Laura to choose from, one I am sharing today and you will see the other two on Saturday.  Here is the card she picked.

As soon as I finished this card, I knew it was the winner.  I liked the other two cards, but this one just stood out for me.  I used Old Olive as the card base, embossed with Lacy Brocade.  The doily was just something from my everything drawer that I've had forever, not the Stampin' Up! doilies from the Spring Catalog.  The ribbon is Pear Pizzaz seam binding that I got from the Clearance Rack a couple weeks ago, looked great with the Old Olive.  I stamped the scallop heart from the Hearts a Flutter Bundle and die cut it.  The anniversary greeting from Teeny Tiny Wishes is stamped in Old Olive as well.  The shamrock came from a retired set from last year.  The heart blended in too much with the doily when by itself, so I used Old Olive CS die cut with one of the Windows Collection Framelits and it popped more.

Overall I love the elegant look, very appropriate for a sweet first anniversary!  You can see the other two cards I made for Laura to choose from on See it Again Saturday as they are both made with previous layouts.
Thanks for visiting!! See you again tomorrow when I share another card sample.

Birthday Card for LNS Challenge #211

Today's card is for the LNS Challenge #211, all about birthdays.  I have really missed the chalkboard technique so I decided to go with that.  I did a banner and a simple birthday greeting for my card, super fun and super easy!

I went with a pretty simple layout since the DSP was so bold.  I used the birthday greeting from Perfectly Penned with a chalk line around the edges to balance out the bright circus DSP that I got off the clearance rack.  I joined the banner pieces together with Cherry Cobber Bakers Twine and attached the banner to the card with dimensionals.  Bright, cheery and fun to put together, can't ask for better than that!

Thanks so much for visiting! Tomorrow is Friday, so I'll be sharing a flashback card, be sure to come back!

LNS Challenge 209

Good Morning! Today's card is for the LNS Challenge #209, the theme is feeling blue.  I was having so much fun making shadowbox cards that I used that as my design.

I chose Bashful Blue and Marina Mist as my blue shades.  I added in a bit of Certainly Celery and Daffodil Delight for just a touch of color.  The back of the card is Bashful Blue and is embossed with the Honeycomb EF from the Spring Catalog.  The front of the card is Whisper White with the flower from Bloomin' Marvelous stamped in Bashful Blue.  I added cut out flowers in Marina Mist to stand out and I stamped the greeting in Marina Mist as well.  The leaves are stamped in Certainly Celery on the front and then I added in Certainly Celery leaves using the Bird punch to accent the cut out flowers.  The hummingbird in Daffodil Delight added just a touch of extra color and really popped, the card looks more finished with it there.

Thank you for stopping and checking out my card!  Tomorrow I have a Madison Avenue card to share so please stop back!!

LNS Color Challenge

I love the color challenge that the Late Night Stampers Group is having this week.  I knew exactly what I wanted to make, I just love the combo of Rich Razzleberry, Pink Pirouette, and Lucky Limeade.  Here's what I came up with using the Sale-a-bration set Bloomin' Marvelous.

The Pink Pirouette is such a soft color and the Rich Razzleberry looks beautiful with it but very bold.  I actually stamped off at least once or twice before stamping on the white next to the pink so they would blend better.  I did the same with the butterflies, stamped off then hand cut them out.  The Whisper White card base is embossed with the Honey Comb EF and I framed the greeting with Rich Razzleberry die cut with the Window Frames Framelit.
After I made this card I just loved the layout so much that I made several more samples that I will share with you.  Stop back tomorrow for more!!
