Puppy Love

Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!  This week the theme is Love is in the Air....so we are featuring VALENTINES!

I had so many favorites in the new Occasions Catalog that Valentine type sets took a backseat.  So....I made a Valentine with what I had and I think it's just super cute!

Playful Pals becreativewithnicole.com

Isn't this Valentine puppy so sweet!  I have always been a big fan of pink and chocolate so those colors jumped into my head right away!

Playful Pal

The puppy's "fur" is a design from the beautiful LOVE BLOSSOMS Designer Paper Stack on page 17.  It's intended to coordinate with the Bloomin' Love Bundle, but the paper is so beautiful it can be used with just about anything!  This particular design was simply perfect for my pink and chocolate puppy!

I brought in pink with the sponged hearts created with a decorative mask.  They give a nice subtle background and a real Valentine feel to the card.  My biggest dilemma with not getting a Valentine set was what sentiment to use.  But that ended up being an easy thing to solve!  I looked through my stamps and found the wonderful sentiment "Love You" in the versatile set FRIENDLY WISHES in the main catalog.

This turned out so sweet, it's just another great reason to get the PLAYFUL PALS Bundle...very versatile!

Now for the nitty gritty....the SUPPLY LIST!

One of my favorite sets in the Occasions Catalog is PLAYFUL PALS which can be bundled with a set of thinlits called PYRAMID PALS.

Is this too cute or what!!  I loved this bundle as soon as I saw it, brings out the kid in me!  I can't wait to make lots of cute animals and cards!

I started out with a baby card featuring a cute little owl peeking out from behind the sentiment.  The giant "hello" happens to be a favorite of mine from a Sale-a-bration set called HELLO.  It's a fabulous set to compliment other stamps and is just as fun to use on it's own.  Here I combined it with "baby" from CELEBRATE TODAY to create a sweet baby sentiment.

I couldn't wait to move onto the thinlits to make this adorable little owl to compliment the card.  Wouldn't this little guy be the cutest party favor at a baby shower!!  I constructed him leaving one side unsealed so you could tuck some candy inside and open it easily.

I hope I brought out the kid in you today and that you think this duo is as fun and sweet as I do!  Now it's time to move on and see more favorites from the very talented ladies in this group.  Up next is Sara and I can't wait to see what's she's made!  Be sure to hop all the way around, I know you'll want to see all of the fabulous ideas!

Pyramid Pals

The new Occasions Catalog is just FULL. OF. GOODNESS!  I am so happy that I can start creating with new products and honestly I don't know where to start!!  Since Christmas is just a few days away, I went with a Christmas idea I had for a new set of thinlits called PYRAMID PALS.

Christmas Pyramid Pals by becreativewithnicole.com

Are these just too cute or what!!!  The PYRAMID PALS THINLITS have a coordinating stamp set that you can purchase as a bundle and save 15%...woo hoo!

rudolph

Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer was the first idea to come to mind and is simple to make.  To make the pyramid you need just a half sheet of cardstock cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2".  I cut out 2 pieces of the pyramid and assembled it leaving one side open to add goodies.  His face was super easy to create as well, the mouth was done with a stamp from the coordinating set PLAYFUL PALS and the eyes and nose are done with the circles from the OWL BUILDER PUNCH.

I made his face on the front and had the back be the side that opens up.  His antlers are part of the die cut set, they are intended to be frog legs but easily changed to antlers with just a few snips with my scissors.

Christmas tree pyramid pal

The tree features another part of the thinlit set, a FRINGE die cut.  YES, I said FRINGE die cut!!  I was able to use the left over parts of the half sheet of paper for these fringe pieces, so making this tree was very frugal!  I adhered the fringe before assembling the pyramid so I could trim it down into the triangle shape.

For the back of this one, I added a tag cut from a triangle thinlit in the set and stamped "to" and "from".  I added a bit of gold cording to tie this one shut to hold goodies for the recipient.

I can't wait to show you more fun ideas with this amazing bundle.  I hope you enjoyed this little sneak peek, there is more to come!
