Flashback Friday: Fashion Statements

It's Friday!! Time for another flashback.  This time we are going back to the 2005-2006 Idea Book and Catalog.  For today's cards I used Fashion Statements, a super cute Level 3 hostess set.  I so enjoyed making cards, I made two to show you today!

This first card is made with the layout I have used several times and keep using because I love it! The angel wings are super sweet and I love the greeting that goes with it.  I used Pink Pirouette as my card base, embossed with the Lacy Brocade EF.  The DSP Nursery Nest is also retired, but I love the patterns.  This small polka dot was just perfect for a small pop of color.  The wings are layered on Marina Mist and a pink gingham ribbon was tied around it.  The greeting is stamped on Whisper White with StazOn Black Ink and punched out with the 1" circle.  I used the 1 1/4" Scallop Circle punch that was carried over from the Holiday Catalog to frame the greeting.  A little extra touch is the small flower from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack.  I love the soft pastels and the angelic look!

The second card was a repeat layout from yesterday.  I changed it up just a bit.

I used the basic layout but changed up the focal point.  I love this stamp, so I wanted to layer it up and make it more prominent.  I did only DSP as the banner (Nursery Nest again) and gave the greeting lots of framing.

I stamped again on Whisper White with StazOn Black Ink.  I colored it using a blender pen and ink pad (same with the angel wings in the first card).  The pink circle and card base is Blushing Bride, a retired In Color.  The Window Framelit is Marina Mist and paper pierced around the edges.  The seam binding is also a retired In Color, Pear Pizzaz, one of my fabulous finds on the Clearance Rack!
I thought this layout looked great with this stamp, it is a small stamp but looks good framed!
