Halloween Treats

Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!  This week our theme is TRICK OR TREAT SMELL MY FEET so we have lots of ideas for Halloween treat giving.

ccmfall3

I went with the CURVY KEEPSAKE BOX THINLIT paired with HALLOWEEN NIGHTS SPECIALTY DSP and SPOOKY FUN.

spooky-fun-treat-becreativewithnicole-com

To create the treat, you only need to die cut part of the CURVY KEEPSAKE THINLIT.  I did a diagram to show you where I placed my paper.

After you cut the two pieces, simply add fast fuse to the small bottom flap and adhere together.

I kept the stamping simple so this could be easily duplicated for a party favor and trick or treating.  The sentiment was stamped on a die cut from the MINI TREAT BAG THINLIT and a couple of ghosts were added as well as a spider and his web.

A peppermint patty fits nicely inside, I added a little SNAIL to hold it in then tied the top shut with HALLOWEEN NIGHT BAKER'S TWINE.

Have Some Spooky Fun

SPOOKY FUN is my favorite Halloween set this year.  You could probably tell that already by all the cards I've shared!  Well, I'm back today with a clean and simple card that is a bit different from the previous ideas.

spooky-fun-by-becreativewithnicole-com

The card is mostly monochromatic with Night of Navy being my color of choice.  I wanted to have color in the center of the card that fades out.  I sponged the ink on starting in the center each time and working my way out until the color was how I liked it.

IN the center of the card I added the tree die cut and a few ghosts.  Let me tell you, I found out just how fabulous Stampin' Up PAPER SNIPS are, I lost mine and had to use my kids scissors and it was horrible!  I can tell you I will be tearing apart my desk tomorrow in search of them!  Otherwise, I will most definitely be ordering a new pair....these are a must have for fussy cutting...nothing compares!

I hope this card showed you that you don't have to do a ton of work to have a cool Halloween card!  Give sponging a try, it's a great technique that I certainly don't use enough.

Have you thought about the holidays yet and started planning??  Well, I have a way for you to get lots of projects done without all the design work.  The OCTOBER MINI SESSION from Create with Connie and Mary has 5 FULL TUTORIALS for you, all you do is sit down and craft!  The session is already live so you can see all these fabulous ideas NOW!!!  Just go to CREATE WITH CONNIE AND MARY and join in the fun!!!

Halloween Treat Ideas

I've compiled a bunch of great ideas for Halloween treats so you can prep for upcoming parties.  You can never start too soon!

Spooky Fun by becreativewithnicole.com

This first one is a card and treat together.  I used the BAKER'S BOX and HALLOWEEN NIGHTS DSP to create a fun BOX to put treats in.  This comes together so quickly since the DSP does a lot of the work for you!

For this treat, create a MINI TREAT BAG with DSP and stuff it with goodies.  In this type of bag I like to put a little pad of paper along with pencils and stickers for kids to have something other than candy.  So many options with the awesome HALLOWEEN NIGHTS DSP.

The MINI TREAT BAG thinlit can also be used to make half sized treat bags.  These are perfect for pixie stix, pencil or Twizler.  I decorated this set with COOKIE CUTTER HALLOWEEN and it came together so quickly!  Again, the DSP does a lot of the design work for you.

If you don't have die cuts to make the previous treats, why not make something simple and do a matchbox style treat.

This is super easy to make and do multiples of.  What a fun way to give a treat at school or to hand out to everyone you know around town.  Check HERE for the dimensions if you'd like to make your own.

Would you like to have holiday gift and card ideas designed for you and ready to create??  The OCTOBER MINI SESSION from Create with Connie and Mary does just that!  We have 5 FULL TUTORIALS for you, all you do is sit down and craft!  The session opened today so you can see all these fabulous ideas NOW!!!  Just go to CREATE WITH CONNIE AND MARY and join in the fun!!!

Halloween Boo

Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!  This week our theme is HALLOWEEN BOO....spooky ideas.

ccmfall3

I immediately went to JAR OF HAUNTS for my card, it's got some amazing images for a spooky card or treat.

jar-of-haunts-becreativewithnicole-com

Turned out pretty spooky, don't ya think!  It was a combination of several elements that brought it all together.  First, the BRICK WALL EF was absolutely the perfect background.  I used Basic Gray and added shading with Archival Black ink.  I also added more dimension and spookiness with the spider web from SPOOKY FUN and the tiny spider included with JAR OF HAUNTS.

jar-of-haunts

An ooey, gooey jar of spiders and a haunting jack-o-lantern added to the creepiness of the card.  I personally hate spiders so covering everything in spiders is spooky and creepy to me!  I borrowed the solid color stamp from the original JAR OF LOVE stamp set to give the color in the jar then added slime and colored it with a blender pen and ink pad.

jar-of-haunts-becreativewithnicole-com

Final couple of details that made this card so fun for me were the greeting and candy corns.  I thought I'd better have some kind of treat on the card with "spooky treats" written on it.  I just colored and cut out a couple of candy corns and used mini glue dots to tuck them in the corner.  The sentiment came from the awesome and must have set LABELER ALPHABET.  I stamped the letters in black on Whisper White all in a row then cut out each word.

I hope you enjoyed this spooky idea, I can't wait to see what the rest of the Design Team did!  Below is a supply list so you can re-create this fun Halloween card for yourself!

Cookie Cutter Halloween

I got a chance to sit down and do a little playing with the fun COOKIE CUTTER HALLOWEEN stamp set.  Love how versatile they made the COOKIE CUTTER BUILDER PUNCH by creating TWO stamp sets that coordinate!

cookie-cutter-halloween-becreativewithnicole-com

When I started making this card I had a different idea in mind and it morphed into what you see, which I love even better than my original thought.  Don't you just love when creativity just takes over and leads you into a new direction!

cookie-cutter-skeleton

It all started out with a splash of Elegant Eggplant ink using a stamp from GORGEOUS GRUNGE.  I added in a brick wall using the HALLOWEEN NIGHT SPECIALTY DSP and the rest just fell into place.  A few elements were taken from SPOOKY FUN.  I love all the little stamps in that set that work for so many things.  I used the pumpkins, spider web and spider plus the greeting.  Really, I used more from SPOOKY FUN than I did COOKIE CUTTER HALLOWEEN.  That set just provided the super cute skeleton and his Elegant Eggplant bow tie.cookie-cutter-halloween-becreativewithnicole-comTomorrow I have another fun idea with SPOOKY FUN to share for the Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop.  Don't forget to subscribe to the October Mini Session, it goes live on the 11th!
