All that Glitters

Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!  This week our theme is ALL THAT GLITTERS.

I went with a very unusual card for this one, I wanted to be totally different!  Check it out........

shooting-star-christmas-becreativewithnicole-com

Not your usual Christmas card, right??  Well, I was in the mood to make a movement card so I thought about how I could incorporate the slider card dies into my card.  PEACE ON EARTH was the answer!  The earth in the SHOOTING STAR fit the bill.

The card base was done in black so the silver foil paper would really stand out.  I added in silver glimmer paper and silver embossing as well.  There is even shimmer on the earth that was added with the clear WINK OF STELLA.

Have Some Spooky Fun

SPOOKY FUN is my favorite Halloween set this year.  You could probably tell that already by all the cards I've shared!  Well, I'm back today with a clean and simple card that is a bit different from the previous ideas.

spooky-fun-by-becreativewithnicole-com

The card is mostly monochromatic with Night of Navy being my color of choice.  I wanted to have color in the center of the card that fades out.  I sponged the ink on starting in the center each time and working my way out until the color was how I liked it.

spooky-fun

IN the center of the card I added the tree die cut and a few ghosts.  Let me tell you, I found out just how fabulous Stampin' Up PAPER SNIPS are, I lost mine and had to use my kids scissors and it was horrible!  I can tell you I will be tearing apart my desk tomorrow in search of them!  Otherwise, I will most definitely be ordering a new pair....these are a must have for fussy cutting...nothing compares!

I hope this card showed you that you don't have to do a ton of work to have a cool Halloween card!  Give sponging a try, it's a great technique that I certainly don't use enough.

Have you thought about the holidays yet and started planning??  Well, I have a way for you to get lots of projects done without all the design work.  The OCTOBER MINI SESSION from Create with Connie and Mary has 5 FULL TUTORIALS for you, all you do is sit down and craft!  The session is already live so you can see all these fabulous ideas NOW!!!  Just go to CREATE WITH CONNIE AND MARY and join in the fun!!!

Fall is in the Air

Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!  This week our theme is FALL IS IN THE AIR.

ccmfall3

For my fall card, I went back to the Annual Catalog and combined an older set with a newer set.

wondrous-wreath-for-fall-becreativewithnicole-com

Isn't it great when you can use a stamp set for multiple holidays!

wondrous-wreath

I kept it simple and used Crushed Curry with Cajun Craze to create a fall inspired wreath with WONDROUS WREATH and BANNERS FOR YOU.  I almost added in Pumpkin Pie, but decided against it in the end.  I did use Soft Suede as my third color for the card base and banner outline to give a little more depth to the card.

To give a little more of a fall feel to the card, I added in LINEN THREAD to make a bow and hang the wreath.  This last little touch was just what the card needed!

Below is the supply list and color inspiration so you can create your own fall inspired card.

Jar of Haunts

I don't you about you, but I love making spooky cards and treats for Halloween each year.  This year one of the new stamp sets that stood out to me is JAR OF HAUNTS.

jar of haunts

It has two, yes TWO coordinating sets so you have loads of options!!  JAR OF LOVE and JAR OF CHEER are the other two and they all coordinate with the EVERYDAY JARS FRAMELITS.

For today's card, I was inspired by all the spooky eyes................

Jar of Haunts becreativewithnicole.com

Isn't this great!  The LABELER ALPHABET made this perfect greeting possible.  But there's still more........

Jar of Haunts by becreativewithnicole.com

The jar is hinged to open for the last bit of the sentiment and a pair of spooky eyes!  I just LOVE this!!!

The hidden sentiment is a fun little surprise, don't you think??  I love the unexpected!!

Color Fusers Blog Hop: September 2016 - Part 1

Welcome to the first week of the September COLOR FUSE BLOG HOP!  Twice a month on the first and third Monday’s we’ll be bringing you inspiration through color!  September's hops will feature four gorgeous colors.

color fusers sept 2016

I picked a stamp set you may not have thought of for this set of colors.

Live Love Grow Mini Treat Bag becreativewithnicole.com

LIVE, LOVE, GROW is a favorite of mine!  I just love the sweet succulents and sentiments.  I know you would typically think of this set being in neutrals and greens, but I love the idea of throwing in a Sweet Sugarplum succulent along with the Mint Macaron plants.

Live Love Grow becreativewithnicole.com

To make this a beautiful but functional card, I added a birthday greeting inside along with a couple more succulents.

Live Love Grow

Let's delve into the nitty gritty and talk about how all the colors from the challenge were used.  Obviously I love SWEET SUGARPLUM, I used it for the card base and one of the succulent plants.  It's a great light purple that reminds me of the old Pale Plum that Stampin' Up! had years ago when I first started stamping.  MINT MACARON comes into play with the other plants.  This pale green is such a lovely color and is a great stand out against the plum.  I added in the other two colors as accents.  FLIRTY FLAMINGO is used only with the ribbon for the inside card and the die cut "love" in my sentiment.  It works really well with the card and really adds that little bit of contrast that was needed.  Lastly, RICH RAZZLEBERRY was used with the small flowers on the largest plant.  I used the TREE BUILDER PUNCH to get the tiny flower that would work with the size plants in my terrarium.

Live Love Grow inside card

The inside is embellished a little with the lovely plants and a fun birthday greeting that is a combination of SUNSHINE SAYINGS and LIVE,LOVE,GROW.

Live Love Grow becreativewithnicole.com

If you haven't tried these MINI TREAT BAG cards, I highly encourage you to!  They are a bit smaller than a typical card so even though they are more 3D, they still fit into the Stampin' Up! envelopes.  It's a great way to step up you card making for the WOW factor.  If you'd like to give this style of card a try, check out the supply list below and click on any of the items you would like to order or know more about.
