Mosaic Madness for CCMC263

It's Thursday and we have a new challenge from Create with Connie and Mary.  This week is a sketch challenge, here's a look.

I wasn't sure where to go with this at first.  I ended up choosing Mosaic Madness so I could make my own patterned paper.  Here's the card I made.

I had Polka Dot Parade DSP sitting out from a previous project, so I picked the Razzleberry paper to start out with.  I love the look of Razzleberry and Coastal Cabana so I made a pattern on Whisper White with those two colors.  I added the DSP and my home made pattern in the shapes of the sketch on the Coastal Cabana card stock.  I made my card base Whisper White with the intention of a Razzleberry layer then realized I was out!  I only had a tiny bit of the DSP left which is why you only see Razzleberry on the sides instead of a full background mat.  I added in small punched flowers with Candy Dots and my greeting to complete the card.  This was a fun challenge, I hope you will join in!  Just go to Create with Connie and Mary for all the details.  Check out the cards made by all the Design Team Members, they are fantastic!
Thanks for stopping by!  See you tomorrow for Flashback Friday!

Mosaic Madness for CCMC262

Today I have another clean , modern looking card to share.  I made this one for the Thursday Challenge at Create with Connie and Mary.  This week we were given a color challenge to work with.

I have never paired these colors, but I really like the way they look together.  I did a card using Mosaic Madness, take a look.

I love the way my card turned out, here's the details.

1.  Picked Bermuda Bay for the card base.  Used corner rounding punch for lower right and upper left corners.  My punch would not go through two layers on the top corner, so I cut along the marks made by the punch.

2.  My Whisper White layer has the same corners rounded off and paper piercing added to the opposite corners.

3.  I stamped my mosaics on a separate piece of Whisper White and punched them out.  I arranged them in the pattern I wanted, then adhered them with dimensionals.  I added small pearls to the center of each one.

4.  Lastly, I added the Happy Birthday greeting with StazOn Black to the bottom right corner.

That's it for my clean and simple card.  I hope you like it!!
You can participate in the challenge too!! Just go to Create with Connie and Mary
for all the details and to link up your card.

Make a Wish

I have a quick card share today using Mosaic Madness.  I wanted to make a bright and cheerful birthday card, here's what I came up with.

I paired Strawberry Slush and Daffodil Delight.  Here's the details:

1.  Card base is Whisper White.  I rounded the bottom two corners and added large scallop paper piercing around three sides.

2.  Used Quatrefancy DSP in Strawberry Slush measuring 5" x 3" with the bottom two corners rounded.

3.  Stamped a pattern in Daffodil Delight with one of the stamps from Mosaic Madness on Whisper White.  Then die cut a circle with the circles framelits.  I used the fourth circle in from the largest, measures 3 3/16".

4.  Stamped sentiment from Sweet Essentials in Strawberry Slush and added Candy Dots.

5.  Final piece is a paper bow made with the Quatrefancy DSP added under the sentiment.

That's the short and sweet of it!  I hope you like my bright and happy card!!

Strawberry Slush and Coastal Cabana Mosaics

I am sorry to say that I don't have a flashback share for today :(  It's been a busy week with Vacation Bible School, so I didn't get a chance to do my usual flashback card.  Check back next week and I'll have one for you!  Instead I will be sharing a Mosaic Madness card I made last week.

I have already said it but I'm saying it again, I LOVE THE NEW IN COLORS!  I am so into these colors and how well they go together.  This card uses Strawberry Slush and Coastal Cabana.  I made a pretty simple card.  The base is Strawberry Slush with a layer of Coastal Cabana.  The Whisper White layer is a simple pattern stamped with the mosaics.  I added rhinestone gems to make the mosaics prettier.  The greeting was simple too.

Make a Wish from Sweet Essentials was stamped in Strawberry Slush and die cut using the Window Framelits.  The Coastal Cabana layer underneath was hand cut so it would be a smaller matting.  More rhinestones added underneath ties in with the mosaic designs.  That's the gist of it!  A simple yet pretty card with the mosaics.  There are just so many ways you can use this set and punch that it is a must have for every stamper!

Thanks so much for visiting!  I will go back to Flashback Friday next week!

See it Again Saturday

The weekend is here!  We are having hot and humid weather here in Ohio, all the more reason to stamp!  Today I have a card that is a re-do of a layout from last week.  I really loved the design that I came up with for my Thursday Create with Connie and Mary color challenge using Island Indigo, Summer Starfruit, and Early Espresso.  You can click HERE to go back to my post for the original card.  I used different colors and changed the design slightly, check out the new version.

Don't you just love the Smokey Slate paired with Coastal Cabana??  I do!  This is a wedding card, it is June after all.  I didn't want it to be too girly, so these colors really fit the bill.  As far as re-designing goes, I changed a couple things slightly.  Besides the colors, I made the Window Framelit die cut the next size up.  To get the mosaic pattern, I first stamped my pattern on a square piece of CS then die cut with the framelit.  This not only makes it easier to stamp an even mosaic design, but you can adjust the framelit to get the pattern you want to show on your card.  Once my window framelit was cut, I added it to my Coastal Cabana card base.  I added in the mosaic border stamps in Coastal Cabana to the card base on the top and bottom.  Final touches were a simple greeting and flowers.  The flowers are punched from Basic Gray CS using the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack.  A pearl in the center of each is the perfect little extra touch to complete the card.  I am really pleased with the color combo and will be sure to use it again!

Mosaic Madness for CCMC256

It's Thursday and time for a new challenge at Create with Connie and Mary.  This week we have a color challenge to work with.

I love the masculine feel of this color combo, I haven't try this one out before.  I ended up going with Mosaic Madness, here's what I made.

I must confess that Summer Starfruit is a color I never use.  I don't even own the ink pad.  I have the card stock though, therefore I chose it as the card base.  I added in a mosaic design to the card base, but I used Versa Mark to get around the no ink pad issue.  I often over look the value of Versa Mark, nice to have it around!  Let's look closer at the focal point of the card.

My focal point is a stamped mosaic design that was die cut with a window framelit.  I stamped the design before cutting it so I could position the design how I wanted it in the window framelit.  I stamped my design using Island Indigo and Early Espresso.  For a pop of color, I added in a couple flowers in Summer Starfruit that I punched with the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack.  A small pearl added an extra little touch to the flowers.  I added in Early Espresso flowers randomly on the card base for a little extra color there as well.  Last touch was the greeting stamped in Island Indigo using Sweet Essentials.  I ended up loving this abstract design of this card. I hope you like it too!!

Join me for the color challenge this week.  Just hop over to Create with Connie and Mary to find out all the details and link up your card.

More Mosaic Madness For CCMC254

It's time for another great challenge at Create with Connie and Mary.  This week we have some great colors to work with.

I am still on my Mosaic Madness kick.  Part of the reason I keep using this great new set is that I am working at my dining room table right now and not in my office due to Samuel.  It's much more convenient for me to be upstairs with him than drag him down to my craft room in the basement.  So..my supplies are limited, I couldn't bring everything up!  Anywho, this is what I came up with.

The card base is Island Indigo, which believe it or not I did not emboss!  Instead I embossed the piece of Pool Party that I used as my first layer.  I added a layer of So Saffron with the greeting stamped in Island Indigo.  I stamped my mosaics and punched them out then added them using dimensionals.  I like the off set look to this card, something different!

I hope you will join in the challenge too and create a card with the fantastic colors we have to work with this week.  Just go to Create with Connie and Mary for more details and to link up your creation.

Thanks for stopping by!! See you tomorrow for another Flashback Friday!

I hope everyone has a
wonderful Memorial Day.  A huge thank you to all the men and women that
serve in the military to protect out country, we appreciate all you do!
It's Monday and time for a new sketch for the Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge with Technostamper.  Here is this week's sketch.

I haven't use my Dress Up framelits since I got my new catalog preview items, so I pulled them out for this week's card.  I still used new items, couldn't help myself!! Here's what I came up with.

The card base is the new In Color Baked Brown Sugar.  I added a strip of the printed window sheet from the Quatrefancy Specialty DSP.  A piece of the new Crisp Cantaloupe was embossed with the Modern Mosaic EF and adhered over the specialty window sheet.  I was careful to place ahdesive on the window sheet so that it was hidden by the Crisp Cantaloupe CS.  The dress form was die cut out of Crumb Cake CS and I stamped a mosaic pattern from Modern Mosaic on it.  A piece of the retired SAB ribbon in Pool Party finishes the dress form. A greeting stamped with Coastal Cabana ink and die cut with a Bitty Banners framelit completes the card.  I love how the colors look together, they mesh well.  I had a great time creating a card from this week's sketch, love how this turned out.

Mosaic Madness in 3D

As I mentioned earlier, I have been working on a fun 3D project with the Mosaic Madness stamp set that I am obsessed with!  I have had so much fun using this set and wanted to make something I could look at every day... on my fridge!  Here's what I made.

Using everyday, ordinary clothes pins I created fun magnetic refrigerator clips.  There are sooooo many possibilities with this project!   I went with the new Quatrefancy DSP as my color inspiration for this set, but I am definitely planning on a set with the new In Colors.  Here's a closer look at each magnetic clip.

These clips are simple to make.  I cut a strip of DSP to cover the front of my clip.  The size of the paper will vary according to the clothespins you buy.  Different stores have different sizes.  I just put a thin strip of glue over the clothes pin then place the paper on.  I used the smallest of the Windows Framelits as my base for the focal point.  I free hand paper pierced around the framelit die cut then added different mosaics from the stamp set using the coordinating punch.   I had so much fun choosing which mosaic and which color for each clip and can't wait to do more!!  The last step is the magnets.   I cut a thin strip of magnet off the roll for the top and bottom of the clip then hot glue them into place. And that 's it! Simple and functional too!  I hope you think these are as fun as I do!!
Thanks for visiting, come back tomorrow for a new Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge.  Have a great day!

See it Again Saturday

I have a fun new In Color creation to share today for See it Again Saturday.  I really loved the sketch challenge from Create with Connie and Mary this week, so I re-did the card I made Thursday.  Here is a look again at Thursday's card for CCMC253.  To see the post on this card, click HERE.

I love the new In Colors, so I used three of them on the re-make card.

I think these colors blend so beautifully!  I used Coastal Cabana,  Baked Brown Sugar, and Crisp Cantaloupe plus a dash of Soft Suede.  Just like the previous card, the base is embossed with Modern Mosaic EF.  I free hand stamped the mosaics on the Whisper White banner, love making patterns!  I added Crumb Cake taffeta ribbon which looks perfect with these colors.  The final piece is the greeting from Banner Greetings stamped in Soft Suede.  I hope you like my re-make as much as I do!

Thanks for stopping by!! Check back tomorrow for the 3D Mosaic project that I talked about sharing this week.
