Time for Cake

For today, I thought I'd share a fun card that could be for a birthday or another celebration that involves CAKE!



I made the outside of the card a celebration with the fun FESTIVE BIRTHDAY DSP and silver glimmer confetti.  But wait until you see the inside.......



The inside is quite festive too!  I added in a die cut cake from the BIGGEST BIRTHDAY EVER bundle and sentiments from PARTY WITH CAKE.



I love all the bold colors from the FESTIVE BIRTHDAY DSP.  They really make this a bright and happy card!  And the SILVER GLIMMER confetti from the SPRINKLES PUNCH were the perfect finishing touch.  Who doesn't love glimmer and glitter!

Confetti Celebration

Did you know that today is a special day??  It' the first day that you can order from the BRAND NEW 2016-2017 Stampin' Up! Catalog!!!  Yep, I'm excited....can you tell?

This is such an amazing catalog....my wish list is literally a mile long!  I even splurged today and placed an order with 2nd day air so I'll have it Friday!  Can't wait to start working with NEW PRODUCTS!!!  Speaking of new, here's a card for today that combines new and old, well not too old, PARTY WITH CAKE has been released in the new catalog too!



Isn't this so much fun!!  I used a NEW designer paper, a NEW stamp set and a NEW punch!



I started out with the idea to use a favorite new color combination of WATERMELON WONDER and DAPPER DENIM.  Since this card is all about celebrating, I added in a fun paper design from the new POP OF PINK Specialty Designer Series Paper.



I created a fun extended greeting by combining die cut negatives from the PARTY POP UP thinlits and sentiments from CONFETTI CELEBRATION.  Alternating colors makes the sentiment "pop" against the gold sprinkle paper.  And for a little extra bling, I added punch outs of streamers and confetti using the fun new SPRINKLES PUNCH.  I think this new punch is a real MUST HAVE!  Imagine all the awesome shaker cards that can be made with this punch!!



And as always I had to make the inside of the card as happy as the outside!  I used sentiments from PARTY WITH CAKE and added in more streamers.  Overall this card was way too much fun!!

NOW........here's that SNEAK PEEK I promised......

I actually used TWO new products plus one that carries over.

The focal point of my card is a combination of a sentiment from CONFETTI CELEBRATION, a swirly die cut from the SWIRLY SCRIBBLES THINLIT and a current sentiment from PARTY WITH CAKE.  This showcases quite nicely how well stamp sets and products from Stampin' Up! coordinate and work together.

There's a bit of bling here too...of course!  The silver polka dot paper from the SHINE ON DSP was the starting point with the SILVER GLIMMER PAPER and RHINESTONES being a natural addition.  I threw in one more color.......PEEKABOO PEACH.  It's my favorite new In Color by far!  I actually have another SNEAK PEEK card for you tomorrow featuring it as a part of my favorite new color combo.

Masculine Birthday

Welcome to the Creation Station Blog Hop for May!  This month we are featuring MASCULINE cards and projects, so be sure to hop all the way around to see all the fabulous ideas!

I created a birthday card for you that combines several items from the Occasions catalog....the SUNBURST THINLIT, NUMBER OF YEARS and PARTY WITH CAKE.



The inspiration for this idea came directly from my husband.  It's a running joke that he is 29 and holding.....and he's said that the entire 17 years I've known him!  I can tell you he's definitely not 29, but what's the harm in letting him think he is??



I started out with Basic Gray as my card base and added lots of splotches with GORGEOUS GRUNGE.  I just love how a little grunge can give a more masculine look and feel to a card when using the right colors.  Then I layered on a couple of sunbursts that had been cut down with circle framelits.  I added a little grunge stamping to both then offset them slightly.



The die cut numbers from NUMBER OF YEARS are just too awesome and were the perfect addition to the center of the sunbursts.  I also added a couple of sentiments in the bottom right corner to complete the design.  "Let's Party" from PARTY WITH CAKE was an obvious choice, it coordinated perfectly!  Just another example of how well the different stamp sets can work together!



After the front was all grunged up, I had to do the same for the inside!  I used PARTY WITH CAKE again for the awesome sentiment and added lots of splotches.  I think Hubby is going to get a kick out of this card for sure!

Blackberry Bliss

Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!  This month we are featuring the In Colors that will be retiring soon.  Today’s color is BLACKBERRY BLISS!



For a little inspiration, I pulled out the BOHEMIAN DSP and picked out a Blackberry Bliss pattern.



Isn't this too fun!  I love the way Blackberry Bliss and Bermuda Bay compliment each other!  As you can see, I ended up with two patterns from the Bohemian DSP.  The one I used for the background reminded me of sprinkles which is just perfect for a birthday card!



To make the words from the PARTY POP-UP THINLITS really stand out, I added Bermuda Bay behind the die cut.  Even though the Hip Hip Hooray die cut covers most of the card, it still needed something.  So I grabbed the retiring set CUPCAKE PARTY.



I used the coordinating BUILD A CUPCAKE punch to add a cupcake to the front of the card.  But I didn't stop there, there is a cupcake on the envelope and inside the card too!

Did you notice that the sentiment from CUPCAKE PARTY rhymes with the sentiment on the front??  Isn't it fabulous how so many of the stamp sets work together to create such fun cards!

Party with Cake Funfold

I have a really FUN card for you today!  I am so loving PARTY WITH CAKE and wishing I'd ordered it sooner!



Another bold card!  This stamp set is just so perfect for the bolder brighter look.  But wait until you see the inside!



It's a Pop Out Swing Shaker card!!  I originally make this type of card last fall and it was very popular.  If you'd like to see the original, click HERE to see the card and video with instructions.



The original Pop Out Swing Shaker that I did had the typical shaker front with window sheet and dimensionals.  For this one I went with the flat shaker using VELLUM CARDSTOCK.  The bits and pieces inside the shaker were the cut outs from the die cuts that coordinate with the stamps called PARTY POP UP THINLITS.  I also added a few sequins inside and out.  The die cut sentiment was also from the left overs from die cutting.  It's so fabulous to have a use for the intended die cut and the scraps...love it!
