Lighthearted Leaves Shaker

Guess what....I'm back with another SHAKER!  Yep, I am officially obsessed!  I have really been into fall cards and was pondering a way to make a cool shaker.  LIGHTHEARTED LEAVES is a new favorite of mine, so I thought about it and came up with this!

Lighthearted Leaves Shaker by becreativewithnicole.com

A rustic shaker!!  The idea for this kind of shaker came when I found some cool fall colored sequins at the Dollar Tree.  Of course I grabbed them up in every color and went home a happy girl!

If you'll look closely, the shaker is shaped perfectly as a leaf so you see all the sequins.  I did a similar card with the butterfly framelits, you can find more about it HERE.  You can also see a close up of the embossing and sponging that really brings home the rustic feel of the card.

I went with the EXPRESSIONS NATURAL ELEMENTS for my sentiment, it was the perfect fit for this monochromatic card.  I wasn't sold on these wooden elements at first, but now I love them!  In fact, there are more coming up in the Holiday Catalog that I plan on getting!

I hope I leave you inspired for fall card making!  Keep an eye for more shakers in the near future, my brain is already thinking about the next one!

Happy Scenes Shaker + Tutorial!

As you know, I am obsessed with SHAKERS!  There's just something about sequins that makes me happy!  So of course I was thinking of possible shaker cards as I looked through the upcoming Holiday Catalog, and there is a set just perfect.....Happy Scenes.

Window Shaker by becreativewithnicole.com

What a cool window scene!!!  I used a spider web design from the Happy Haunting Designer Paper, is it perfect or what?!

Halloween Shaker by becreativewithnicole.com

The window is a perfect shaker over the spider webs.  I added silver and black sequins plus a few Silver Glimmer paper stars punched with the Confetti Star Border Punch.  I also added a few Black Glimmer paper stars as well to the card front.  Just wait until you see the Black Glimmer paper in person, it's AWESOME!

I tried out a couple of ideas and decided to share this fun MINI TREAT BAG card.

Watermelon Mini Treat Bag

One of my favorite new In Color Products is the awesome ENVELOPE PAPER.  It's got a great feel to it and works beautifully with the MINI TREAT BAG THINLET.

Mini Treat Bag Card

Of course I had to make this bag a bit different.  I made it into a card with a fun little vellum shaker on the front.

Treta bag heart

The shaker is a simple pocket made with vellum and the very cute Cherry on Top Designer Washi Tape.  I kept the sentiment simple so the shaker could shine.

Watermelon Wonder Treat Bag

Isn't this such a fun way to tell someone you love them!  I love how bright and happy Watermelon Wonder is....it's quickly becoming my favorite new In Color!

All that Shimmers!

Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!  We've got the coolest theme for you today, METALLICA!  Yep, I'm talking about GOLD AND SILVER!

BLOG HOP BADGE MAINYou should be arriving from Mary Brown's fabulous blog, wasn't her project amazing!  If you are just starting out here, welcome and enjoy the ride!  Be sure to stop by all of the blogs to check out all of the cool cards we have for you today.

I pondered my card for awhile, there were so many ways I could go with this theme!  Can you guess what I went with???

Cottage Garden by Nicole Tugrul

If you guessed SHAKER CARD then you know me well!!  I got the Cottage Greetings Card Kit last week from Connie and Mary when I helped at their LIVE event, wasn't that sweet of them!!  I had such a blast that day, I didn't want to go home!! Anyway, I knew I wanted to used this awesome kit for today's card and I wanted it to be my style.  What's more my style than a SHAKER CARD!!

Cottage Greetings Shaker

Most of my supplies for the card came from this kit.  That's what so cool about these kits, you have everything you need at your finger tips.  I cut a circle with framelits in the center of the floral wreath to start my shaker.  Small flowers in Blushing Bride shake about with silver sequins from the kit.  How did I get such a small flower??  Well, the TREE BUILDER punch was sitting on my desk and calling my name!  This punch is for so much more than you think!

Shaker Card with Cottage Greetings

Once the shaker was done, the last piece of the puzzle was the sentiment.  I wanted silver embossing but it just didn't look right with the Mint Macaron cardstock, it needed more depth.  To the rescue was a bit of Basic Gray cardstock that had great contrast and complimented the wreath.  Finally, a few extra sequins on the front gave the finished look I wanted.  I love this fun shaker and hope you love it too!

Now, let's go see what Debbie Henderson has created for us, I know it's going to be awesome!

Create with Connie and Mary Blog Hop: Pop Out Swing Fold

Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Bog Hop!!  All during June we are featuring different FUN FOLD CARDS and this week is the POP OUT SWING CARD!

You should be arriving from Mary Brown's amazing blog Stamper Camper's Corner, wasn't her card wonderful??!!  If you are just starting out here, welcome and enjoy the ride!  Be sure to stop at each blog to check out all of the cool cards we have for you today.

I was so excited about today's card, I have been wanting to try this type of fun fold for awhile now.  It took me a little bit to figure out what I wanted to do, but I think you'll like the end result.

I combined my obsession with shaker cards and this fun fold style to create a fabulous birthday card anyone would love!

This fun fold is so easy to create!!!  It really takes no time at all, just a couple of extras steps with a regular size card front.  I went with the fun new set You're So Sweet on page 57 of the new Annual Catalog.  It coordinates with the Mini Treat Bag Thinlet, but you can do lots more with it!

I started out with the sentiment stamped with Watermelon Wonder on Whisper White.  The Square Framelits were used to create the opening and the cut the cardstock for the shaker.  I used the third and fourth framelits from the outside.  I'm not going to go into great detail right now, but if you like this card and want to know more , leave a comment and I will consider doing a video if enough people are interested!  UPDATE:  There have been soooo many wonderful comments and I super appreciate it!! I love to hear what you think so stay tuned for the video you have asked for!!!  Click HERE to go to the TUTORIAL!!!

My shaker contains gold sequins, Crushed Curry stars with the Confetti Star Punch, and Watermelon Wonder cherries punched with the Cupcake Builder Punch.

When you pull the shaker, more magic happens and the card pops open!  I added a birthday greeting from Age Awareness plus a sweet little cupcake with the Cupcake Builder Punch.  The Cherry on Top Designer paper provided the fun candy pattern paper that I paired with Crushed Curry.

As always I made the envelope coordinate with the card with a cute little punched cupcake in the lower left corner.....always have to match!!!

I hope you enjoyed my shaker style pop out swing card!  Now it's time to hop on over to Debbie Henderson's beautiful blog Debbie's Designs to see what fabulous idea she's come up with this week!!
